Which wedding arrangements do you do with your fiancé and which with your maid of honor????
I'm getting married in December this year
I've never been part of any wedding planning before so it's all quite confusing for me. We're planning a really low budget wedding (don't think that's quite relevant to the question though lol). Bottom line is I'm confused with regards to the wedding planning tasks: venue viewing, gifts for the guests, cakes, etc - which tasks are done with your fiancé and which with your bridesmaid / mother of the bride?
Since you are trying to focus on teh budget, it is best to really focus on the costs of EVERYTHING. The cost list will be your Bible. Since you are confused, take a deep breath and think of a happy place (pool, massage, beach paradise), then come back with a fresh view.
In planning my wedding, I ran everything by my fiance. He would be uncomfortable so I wanted him to like the environment most. Also he is a food fanatic so the menu had to be run by him. My mother heard everything but she only offered advice that wasn't as valuable. The wedding is for you and your partner, your mother should have already had her chance.
Congrats bride-to-be! I just got married myself on June 1st. My husband was more hands-off. He left it mostly to the women, which worked out for me. If you have a fiance that wants to be involved in the details, traditionally the venue and menu options, including the cake, are selected by the bride and groom, and occasionally your mother.
Your mother and Maid of Honor should also help you with gift, wedding dress, and bridesmaid wardrobe selections. Your Maid of Honor should also help you with more intricate details like any do-it-yourself decorations or wedding favors, and planning any salon visits for the wedding day.
Some brides mix it up and just go with whoever seems to be more excited about wedding planning. That can even be a sister or mother-in-law.
This will be one of the most exciting times of your life. Enjoy it, and just take a good breather if you get stressed out!
You could ask your fiancé what part of the planning he would like to be involved in and do it together as a couple....Certain things may be important to him, such as the venue, music, food, etc. Your maid of honor can assist you with other things as you complete items on your check-off list. The maid of honor is especially responsible for organizing your bridal shower and bachelorette party. If you do not have a coordinator and are doing a lot of things yourself (decorations, favors, flowers, invitations, programs, etc.), you could use the help from your maid of honor, mother, and the whole bridal party if they are available.

I'm going to be a bridesmaid. Now what?I have never been in someone's wedding. I don't even like weddings. I like the person and she is my inlaw so I guess it will be fun on some level, but what are my responsibilities? I am not the maid of honor? What should I know? I guess I will be having this...
