What is the most iconic car in movie history?
So many movie cars, so many memories. What one movie car stands out as the most iconic for you? The classy Gran Torinio from Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino"..the candy-apple murderous beauty "Christine"..the Dodge Monaco Bluesmobile from "The Blues Brothers"..the Batmobile or maybe Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang? Share your viewer's choice!
James Bond's Aston Martin DB... Or his Lotus Esprit that turned into a mini submarine!
The black Trans Am on Smokey and the Bandit. The Bandit knew his stuff when it come to fast chases and get-a-ways. I really enjoyed all three movies, but the first one is my favorite. Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason all made a hit with the characters they played on Smokey and the Bandit. The car kept us glued to the screen.
Delorean, from Back to the Future.
Also, I was always a fan of James Bond white Lotus Esprit.
The Mustang that Steve McQueen drove in "Bullett" and the Pacer in "Wayne's World"
So many choices but if I wanted to throw one or two out there I would say the Ford XB Falcon from The Road Warrior and Cadillac Miller-Meteor, or Ecto-1, from Ghostbusters.
Apart from the ones listed, I'd also have to say the Batmobile from the two Tim Burton Batman films.
I will go with the Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit. Not a fan of the old Pontiacs, but Reynolds made that particular car pretty darn cool, and iconic!!
Tim Burton's Batmobile and the Delorean time machine are the clear choices.
How about The Love Bug's VW Beetle? I think it's pretty iconic!
For me it has to be the Aston Martin DB5 007 drove in Goldfinger and which I think had a brief come back in Casino Royale. A classic - elegant, sexy but deadly, built at a time when Britain was crazy with Beatlemania. This car established Bond as the ultimate movie spy, no matter which actor incarnates.
In my opinion, the Bat Mobile is the most iconic movie car. It is massive, like a mini-truck and of unmatched strength and power. It has also inspired the grand Lamborghini Car - The Sesto Elemento. Only 20 of them have been made.
The Plymouth Fury from Stephen Kings Christine, or Hemicuda from Phantasm.
Charger from Dukes Of Hazzard or Kit from Night Rider, I liked both
The first one that popped into my head was the Delorean from "Back to the Future". Then next one that came to mind was Eleanor from "Gone in 60 Seconds".
The Mini Cooper driven by Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), in the movie - The Bourne Identity. One of the best car chase scenes as well. That's my pick.
The 1959 Plymouth Fury in Christine. I always wanted one of those. (A Plymouth, not a Christine.)
