If you could hoist one pro sports trophy, which would it be?
Every major sport has that trophy men strive through so much pain to merely hold. Given your sports love, which piece of hardware would you love the most to hoist in victory?
Well E.J. you know where I'm going with my answer. I would have loved to be crowned an NHL Stanley Cup Champion; thus, being inabled to hoist 35 lbs proudly. However, I missed opportunity so I will have to keep my hands off the silver chalice...
It does seem to be the most hallowed trophy in sports. As a Chicago fan I feel blessed to have seen it won twice.
Absolutely the World Cup trophy! The most prestigious/important cup in the entire world
The frenzy that surrounds it is certainly hard to top. Can't argue with that.
I would have to go with the Lombardi Trophy since football is my favorite sport.
Personally, that is my choice as well. I've seen the Bulls win the Larry O'Brien, the White Sox hoist the Commissioner and the Hawks raise the Cup twice. My final wish is to see my Bears get that damn Lombardi.
It has always been for me the Champions of the NHL (hockey) the Stanley Cup which I did get to drink tablewine out of, kiss and hold in 1995 when the Cup was on a Canadian Tour. Our company awarded us a day with the Cup and 2 pics with it, as a safety award. What a shrine!! And I also have seen the Grey Cup (CFL football top award) live 5 ft. away but didn't get to hold it.
You lucky man, you. So much history to both trophies. Great calls.
all the better it would look being hoisted by my tiny little self
I know this question is directed in the sense of trophies, but veering away from that, something iconic, and historic has had it's place golf for decades. The green jacket in the Masters. Not only is the tournament itself unique, being played at the same course every year, but is a piece of clothing that can be worn for years signifying the sacrifice and dedication endured by the champion. I'd imagine it would be really cool to have the past champion putting the jacket on me, realizing hundreds of other people have worn this same kind of jacket. Overall it is just very unique compared to every other sport that is mostly accustomed to crowing champions with hardware of trophies or rings. To answer your question directly the Lombardi Trophy would be my trophy choice. With all the history the NFL has been through, that trophy, named after the best coach in NFL history has more significance and resemblance than any others.
id have to agree 100% with you on this one , i too would have gone with the masters jacket had i not tried to stay within the guidelines of a trophy. So i like the way you think sir
How can you not include the jacket? That piece of cloth is as sought after as gold brick at Fort Knox.

Cheeky, ain't it? This past month, long-time Director of Hockey Operations for the NHL, Collin Campbell, stepped down from his post in place of newcomer, Brendan Shanahan.Does anyone else think it's a little cheeky that Coli decided to resign now, just weeks before the Boston Bruins- his beloved...

2013 NFL- What team will win the Superbowl and will hoist and hold the Lombardi trophy?49ers or Ravens? Both teams are build on defense but football is a team effort.

Will the San Francisco 49ers get that 6th Lombardi TrophyThe last 49ers team to win a Super Bowl (as we all know) was the 1994 San Francisco 49ers. Its been 18 long years since they been here and now is the opportunity for them to seize that championship.

If I knew, I'd bet some money. But after this weekend, we'll know four teams that will going on vacation on Monday.I'd like to see San Francisco Bay vs. Denver in the Super Bowl.Or Washington vs. Indianapolis, but that's not going to happen. Just as long as it's not New England.
