How many hours did you put into the video game you played the most, and which game was it?
Currently, 2-3 hours a day. I used to play the NFS series before Undercover but no longer after that as the more recent titles aren't as nice as they used to be in the franchise. So, I currently play Anno 2070 and FIFA 13. I have to admit, though, that Anno 2070 is way more engaging for a long-term fun.
I've enjoyed every Anno game They have a nice city building system.
I'm a hard core sim-racer, and I have put hundreds of hours in to several sims like rFactor and GTR 2 but the one I have always come back to and spent probably 1000 or more hours on is Grand Prix Legends.
GPL is now 15 years old (released in April of 1998) but continues to have a passionate community and shows no signs of slowing down.
That's pretty cool I never knew racing games could hold so many hours of playtime. Does GPL support racing with friends or do you just vs AI or random online players.
GPL has some of the best AI you will see but also has great netcode, I have raced in several on-line leagues over the years and had a blast. There are now mods for it covering 1965, '66, '68, 69 F1 and Can Am and Sportscars too. Wheel/pedals required
I used to play almost 6 hours a day when I was playing Need For Speed Most Wanted. Even after I finished the game, I used to play the normal races. It was so addicting.
Three answers so far and they are all racing games. I feel like I've been missing out now! I think the racing game I played the most of was Mario Kart for Snes. =p
Hmm I played DOTA a lot. Its short for Defense of the Ancient. A custom map created by Icefrog using the Warcraft 3 engine.
Icefrog helped design Dota 2, are you going to switch over?
The most is arguable, because I've spent literally thousands of hours clocked in TESIV: Oblivion (not just from 6AM to 6PM, I'm talking about moving, swinging weapons and just clocking them in the pause menu), and Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer. However these are all on multiple playthroughs, so I suppose that doesn't count. But the reasons were because I enjoyed them.
Skyrim is the one I've seen the most - 70 hours played, even though I'd spent around 16 hours a day playing it for three weeks. It's amazing how little time you spend, and how much you waste.
Too many games to think of at the moment; all of them I try to invest as much time into as possible, because I have too much as a reviewer.
Are you looking forward to Elder Scrolls Online? Seems to be the your next natural iteration. How do you think they will do in the MMO model? I have my fingers crossed, but I'm not sure most companies do it right anymore.
I played GTA vice city and played it 4 hour per day for 1 year. And now im waiting for GTA 5 .
GTA 5 looks like it's going to be great! I'm excited for it as well. I remember playing the first GTA on LAN with friends. That was good times.
Age of empires more than a year
Fifa 5 months
Pes 2010 4 months
Skyrim,witcher,Max payne 2 months
Fac cry 3 15 days
I played Age of Empires 3 for over a year. Really enjoyed that game. Too bad a true AoE 4 never came out. Instead we got a cartoony free-to-play funky game.
Ensemble studio shut down like years ago
was a bad news for AOE fans
Lara Croft 1 through to 6; then put it all away, the whole lot to charity shop. I wanted my creative life back! Was interesting though seeing the progression in graphics and gameplay from PS1 onward. Lara Croft is now completely rebooted I believe, not that I'll ever know... Hours spent playing and running around looking for clues? Oh way too many, I don't want to even know :-)) It was fun though...
Yeah you should check out the latest Tomb Raider. That was a beautiful game graphically.
It is tempting - it was actually game 7 Legend on PS2 where I stopped playing.
Got to be the Street Fighter 4 series mainly playing online. Since Street Fighter 4 and all of the updated releases it's around the 900 hour mark cumulatively. Damn it sounds quite crazy when you actually write it!
Doesn't it? It feels like you are in confession at church or something.
I put 100 hours into a round of Dragon Age: Origins. I put about 60-80 hours into each round of Dragon Age II that I played (4 rounds), so it would be about 250-350 hours total for that one.
Nice! You should be looking forward to DA:3 next year then! Just visited your profile. You include that you are on a Dark Souls run in it. Very impressive hehe.
World of Warcraft. I'm not exactly sure how much it would be if I added up all the characters play times, but I suspect it would total weeks, if not months. Though that is an ever-changing MMO. The most time I spent with an offline game was Knights of the Old Republic. I played the game the whole way through two and a half times (my first play through got glitched and I had to start over). So it probably ended somewhere around 80 hours.
You hit the game I sunk most of my time into (WoW) besides text based mudding. I think I'm into each of those over 3k hours *ducks*. Luckily I've quit both.
88 hours of garrys mod but i did play alot of wow and have probably got more hours on that
Put over 1,000 hours into Super Smash Bros. Melee, over the years. It was just an amazing multiplayer game -- and way better than Brawl.
As far as single player games go... Maybe Final Fantasy X. It takes about 100 hours, as a rough estimate, to finish completely. I did that four times. And I wrote a 600 page walkthrough for the game that covered virtually everything. Man, I love that game. Eagerly awaiting the HD remaster.

I've been loitering around the community news forum for the past few days looking for some interesting discussions, and the place is dead. So I've come to the conclusion everyone is over at Bubblews chitchatting there. I hear you have to put in a fair amount of time commenting and whatnot. So, I'm...
