   Have you ever attended a musical theatre production, whether on Broadway in New York or elsewhere?

   Our high school freshman class always took a trip to New York City. The year I went, we got to see "PT Barnum" starring Tony Orlando. I loved it!

   When I was a child, my father worked for a news agency and art was his beat. He received tickets for movie shows and theater productions. I don't remember exactly when I first attended a musical theater production, but the earliest memory I have belongs to the time when I was 8 years old. The musical was written by Madha Prasad Ghimire (no not my relative), who is now entitled national poet of Nepal. It was based on slavery system. I could not stop myself when the husband and wife were sold separately. I can't tell now, if I understood what was going there, but I'm almost certain that I sensed something bad was happening.  I cried so loudly that my father had to cover my mouth. The musical titled Maliti-Mangle is one of the successful theater productions in Nepal.

   Seven years ago I saw a Broadway tour production of "Les Miserables". I was absolutely stunned by everything. That was probably one of the best nights of my life, and mainly because I left the theater feeling so uplifted.
   
   Two or three years later I saw an Arizona Opera production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado". This will always be my favorite of all the Arizona Opera productions that I've seen (and I've seen quite a few). This performance simply came together so well, and I think the main reason is that "The Mikado" is a bit easier to produce. AZ Opera tends to get a little overambitious and doesn't end up pulling off the more serious operas as well as I think they would like. "The Mikado", on the other hand, was a perfect fit and made for a wonderful afternoon.

      Agree 100% on Les Mis. I saw it off Broadway, in Dallas, TX, and it was just about life changing. Never thought before then that I'd consider myself a musical fan but Les Mis changed that.

      I remember when we left the theater hearing other people talk about how great they felt too. Les Mis has a lot of power.

   I have seen 'Blood Brothers' twice locally, 'Miss Saigon' in the West End and 'Chicago locally'.  Of the 3, I enjoyed Chicago the most and am a big fan of the movie as well.  Blood Brothers is a British musical - very funny but also very poignant and moving, a musical with it all!

   I've never been to New York, but I've seen a ton of large scale musical productions in Toronto. I love musicals - the costumes, the songs, the talent, the time and effort that goes into one scene, let alone a whole production. I won't name the whole list, but here are my favourites that I've seen: Mamma Mia!, We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, Hairspray, The Sound of Music, Grease, Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde The Musical, Toxic Avenger, Priscilla; Queen of the Desert, Wicked, The Rocky Horror Show, Billy Elliot, 9 to 5, A Chorus Line, Next to Normal, The Full Monty, The Addams Family Musical, Hair, and of course, RENT.
   
   There's something about musical theatre that just really moves me, and continues to move me each time I think about a specific show. So amazing!

   I've seen several musical productions.
   "Boy from Oz" on Broadway starring Hugh Jackman, "Dreamgirls" in Los Angeles, "Mamma Mia" in Chicago
   
   Here are some others that I can remember seeing at this time, "Chicago", "Westside Story", "Porgy & Bess", "Bubbling Brown Sugar", "Ain't Misbehavin' ", "The Wiz" , "Wicked",  "Hairspray", "Oklahoma!", "Cats", "A Chorus Line", "Ragtime"  "Saturday Night Fever " (musical), Zoot Suit, and "Phantom of the Opera"
   Live theatre can be a "magical experience" that lingers with you long after the curtain falls. If I really enjoyed the show I'll go back and look at the over priced programs we purchased and relive the experience a day or two later.

   Good question. I have seen many, was even in a local production of Lil Abner (as Dr. Finsdale) years ago. I have enjoyed them all, but the one which moved me most was a wonderful traveling production of Miss Saigon. I did not go to Vietnam during the war, got out before it really heated up. But, the plight of the soldiers and the women depicted in that show and the beautiful, emotional songs were enough to bring tears to my eyes. I recommend it, if it is ever produced again.

    I've been to many.  My favorite was Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in New York.  I was totally mesmerized by the performers and music.

    I was able to see Phantom of the Opera and Jeeves at the Kennedy Center for the Performing arts. Both were excellent. I was able to see Ragtime at the Washington Theater while on a business trip.
    
    Our local little theater has presented Music Man, Cabaret, South Pacific, Jesus Christ Superstar, Singing in the Rain, Annie and many others. All of them have been well done, especially considering the constraints offered by a local stage as opposed to a Broadway Stage.
