I just edited and improved all of my hubs....
As soon as I did this, I noticed that my Hubber score dropped to 83. Why would this be???
Honestly, I don't know too much about the Hubber score, but I feel like it is more of a general thing than an exact thing. If it dropped 10 points, that's a big deal, but if it dropped 5, it might just be a normal fluctuation of some sort.
Seems I read somewhere if too many hubs are edited at once could cause temporary drop in scores.
Not sure. From what Hubpages explains, the hub scores, and hubber score is determined through a process of many factors (though it doesn't ever explain what that process is exactly) I'd speculate it could have to do with how much you comment on other hubs and/or answers, your activity on Hubpages, how many new hubs you write, update, how many are featured, etc
I don't know how the scoring works, but I've noticed the same thing if I publish more than one new hub a day. Even if they end having over an 80 when the get get reviewed, my score tends to drop for a day or so.
Author scores, hub scores or whatever you call them, don't impact your search engine ranks whatsoever, so I wouldn't worry about it. I almost think some of us have a penalty, anyway - especially if you have been flagged, rated down, have a lot of outbound links, or have got in trouble on the forums before, etc. The reason why I think that, is because I have seen some people with loads of well-written hubs with poor scores, yet there are others with terribly written hubs with high author scores. In fact, I've seen some folks that only had 1 or 2 hubs that was obviously slapped together, and had higher scores than a lot of people.
Something seems odd about the algorithm behind all of that, to say the least.
The other thing that matters, is the no-follow/do-follow properties.
In the past, all you had to do was have an author score of 75 or higher and all of your links counted as do-follow, now they have recently changed that to 85 and up. If you link out a lot to outside websites, it seems to lower your scores, as well, even though the foundation of the world wide web is based on links, so go figure...
Hmmm. Very Interesting. As far as I know I have never been flagged, would I know that?
Lets just say, if you make a lot of people mad, the score seems to drop; ha! I've moved most of my hubs to other places, just saying...
Mine have been below the ninety mark for over a week now. I thought it was because I had not recently posted new hubs and that I needed to edit some of my old one. That theory turned out to be wrong because after posting several new hubs in a row for a three day period of time, it did nothing to bring up my score. Perhaps its other factors responsible beyond our control.
Apparently. I published a new hub. and edited/improved the rest and dropped 12 points. ????
The no-follow/do-follow spam defense really dropped a lot of peoples' score that linked out a lot. Not sure if you do, but just saying that, yet again, the rules have changed.
Go hub hopping, it always raises the score.

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...

No update on the stats in 32 hours. Yesterday my Hubber Profile score dropped a point and when I signed in this morning it had dropped another point. My hub score has rapidly dropped 2 points. Is there a connection between the stats not updating and my Hubber score? Seems like a pretty rapid...

I'm thinking the answer is probably yes?If you have hubs that have been deemed "not featured", for one reason or another, will that factor into lowering your overall score/rating as a HubPages member? Example--let's say your overall rating is 75. If 10 non featured hubs become...

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...
