How do you leave home?
I've lately contemplated leaving the city- the county- heck, even the state. I've lived the entirety of my life in a large city on the West Coast. For a long time I found solace in my hometown but the last years have just been very corrosive to our bond. It feels like I'm disconnecting from this place and maybe it's a sign to move on - to see the beauty of the world and not just of my general county. Some of you may think taking the first step out of the door is easiest and that survival will be hardest, but it's currently the opposite for myself. I struggle to abandon, even in times of doubt.
Home is where the heart is. I know that may sound cliché, yet the statement possesses a substantial truth. You should do that in which rekindles your adventurous and passionate spirit. I personally would choose to rejuvenate myself in a refreshingly new scenery.
Thank you for having answered my question. I can agree partially with what you have said; that home is where the heart is. Only partially because my home, my heart, lies with my family. I'm trying to find a way to detach with my heart intact.
Very true, I hadn't even taken that into consideration, it feels really lonely not having your family around all the time when you do depart. However, when you detach away from that comfortable familiarity, you realize the vast possibilities ahead.
Life is always filled with ups & down. Sometimes it maybe hard to make decision of leaving hometown but essential. It is like when I was stuck with the decision of leaving my comfortable working life to strive on my own with limited financial. Looking back, it is already more than 20 years ago I made that decision.
Let your gut feeling to tell you what you should be doing.
How old were you when you left? Thank you for sharing an answer.
I would use a good oracle to see what the future holds. These may be just fleeting thoughts. A good oracle will tell you what the outcome of any decision would be because it tunes into your subconscious truth and what would happen in your future.
I do necessarily believe in that type of stuff? I don't even know what to associate an oracle with, religion or business? Do I go to a church or is it a fortune teller type deal? Either way I don't think this is my path.
Leaving home is difficult no matter how old one is and once you have decided it can still be tough to just leave without turning back. Doubts can leave you thinking twice take about taking that chance. If you feel it is what you really want then go for it make plans and live your life independently experience something different think of what you are missing also visit the place you have decided to go to before thinking of living there you would know what to expect this would make your life easier, and familiar with the surroundings of new place.
For some people, leaving their hometown is never easy even when they feel the nudge telling to move on. I know when I went into the military it scared me to be moving away from everything I knew. Yet when I had the chance to live in different places I figured I'd find someplace to settle further away from where I spent all of my life before then. The main reason was the feeling I had that I could start a new life where very few people knew me. Yet something (I don't know what exactly) drew me back to good old southwest Pennsylvania. For you, the final destination may be completely different and you end up settling somewhere far away because you feel more comfortable in another state or country. The thing is you won't know unless you get out there and explore the options. If you can find a job in another area, take the chance to go somewhere else. In the end, if you feel the draw back home, you can always go back.
Ive wanted to join the military for some time now, but I havent taken the chance due to being grossly out of shape. Without that option though, I've been researching survivalist tips, techniques and whatnot so that I can just see the world on my own.
You know what, I actually do not leave my home. It is the best place for me so I'd rather stay than to go anywhere else. You can fall in love with your home over and over again with constant home improvements.
