    Destruction of Damascus ...

To those who study Bible prophecy, in light of yesterday's news (December 6, 2013), where Syrian President Bashar Assad tells international peace envoy to Syria that he will win even if Damascus is destroyed, and being that Isaiah 17:1 tells us "Look, the city of Damascus will disappear!  It will become a heap of ruins!" ... it appears to me that this prophecy of the destruction of Damascus is about to be fulfilled, as well as the King to the North, which is Syria, will as well.  Do you believe that prophecy is about to be fulfilled?

If it is written in the *Good Book* and we are seeing it unfold. I would say
Thank God! We are all about to go home~ to that better place. :-)

I have read that Damascus is the oldest inhabited city in the world. Don't know if it's true but it has never been destroyed before. These are indeed the end times. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus.

Anyone who studies their bibles know it cannot be far off. If these are not the end days then they are surely at the door.

We must examine Matthew 24. Wars, rumors of war, famine and pestilece have been for centuries. These are the beginning of sorrows. Next comes world wide  persecution , rise of false prophets, lawlessness will cause love of many to grow cold.

Yes, my lovely and dear Sister, Jackie, we must persevere and not lose faith, for we know these things are to come to pass.  All we need do is to keep watch!

All tyrants say things like that. All fall, and life goes on around them. He may do some damage, but he won't end Damascus or the world.

I agree, he is a tyrant, and he has no clue the role he is playing in his own demise!  We shall all see ... and all we are called to do is keep watch.  Bible prophecy will be fulfilled no matter who or what.

Assad may indeed by a tyrant, but if he is deposed then in all likelihood he will be replaced with an Islamic fundamentalist who will want to implement sharia law and cause the World more trouble.

I think it unlikely that Damascus will be reduced to rubble, short of a full scale invasion by another sovereign state, and the World has shown little interest in getting drawn in this so far.

Thank you for your comments, Disappearinghead.  Yes, he is a tyrant, and he may very well not be the one to initiate such, but Bible prophecy will be fulfilled regardless.  Blessings

I followed but just do not get this notion of this says that and so therefore that. And it just seems all written for Women who existed under notions of magic.
I will keep learning and some day be enlightened. tomorrow is not too far off.
I just say this. Jesus just got up from his chair and requested this Van Morrison tune -- well demanded:
: (sorry it does not come through -- Whenever God shines his light on me Youtube Van Morrison ,,, will get you there.

Sorry Eric, do not follow you. I do not believe in magic.  Quoting from Isaiah 17:1?  Get yourself some sleep lol

What I am suggesting is that Jesus is right here and right now  ---- there is no number to the "coming" or temples other than us.
To suggest that signs and things will come is to miss the point that He is right here right now and so prophecy ends.
