If God exists, what would his preference be?
God or no God, we, the human race, all live on this planet we call Earth.
If God exists, I do not believe him to be self-centred and conceited, but religion expects that he be worshiped; to be praised for his creations.
Do you think he would prefer to see what he created protected and cared for?
Or do you think he would prefer that we create religions that profit, create segregation, induce discrimination and break every one of the Ten Commandments, all in his name?
He gave us the mind and left us to our acts and options which come within the religious rules /limits set out in his holy books and describe to us the right way . Those who break the rules/ limits in His name will suffer at the day of judgement and will be accountable for their acts.
I agree Mahmo, and I believe that the majority of people, religious or not, live and abide by the rules/limits.
How is it that a creator can make a flawed product and not be accountable for those flaws? It'd be like making a watch that later breaks under warranty and then saying "well the watch decided to break, not my fault". An omniscient God cannot create a being with free will because he already knows everything that'll ever happen, so it's not free will at all. On top of that, since he knows what you're going to do, he essentially designed you to screw up and then is going to punish you for that? Sounds like a pretty evil dude to me. In any case, God is a logical paradox because his defining attributes clearly contradict one another, as I just pionted out.
The human race is not flawed, just unique. God may be omniscient, but that is ‘all knowing’ at time of writing, not future events. As for logical paradox, is that not a paradox itself? But his preference; worship or taking care of his creation?
To answer your original question directly, the god portrayed in the Bible would seem to care about being worshiped and feared above all else. This is a rather immature goal for an all powerful, perfect entity who would have no such motivations.
Sounds like the mind speaking.
Another viewpoint is that God is continuing to do what He has always done, is now doing, and will continue to do. After all it is His world. Let us continue to do our part as we understand it, and He will do His.
It seems to be an ever-transcending creation, with new and varied or diverse ideas and creations happening constantly, and He works with His plans as He sees fit from time to time. All is well, my brother.

There are many who are atheist and agnostic because they either don't know or don't believe God exists. Creation tells us that God exists but atheist explain Him away with evolution and Big Bangs. So, my question is, how can God prove Himself to the point where there would be no doubt? The Book of...

If God exists how can suffering be accounted for?I recently read an account of why God permits suffering in the Jehovah's Witnesses leaflet Watchtower and it totally failed to explain to me why the loving God who cares for his children, feeds the birds and clothes the lilies of the field allows the...

I can understand the positives of putting your faith in such and such religion, which is why I do not think religion as a whole should be completely eradicated, however in this day and age I honestly wouldn't mind if it was.My question is this: why does religion NEED to exist? If you say "So...
