   Spooks are not law enforcement. CIA is all about strategic intelligence. The US will understand its position in the world better if the distinction between intelligence gathering and law enforcement is better understood. Actually I think that the CIA leadership well understands this.

   Of course. Facebook, Google, Twitter...nothing gets succesful on its own. As Elizabeth Warren just reminded us, its rigged! Remember AT&T and Verizon were sued for spying for Bush. Court deemed it ok for national security. Only big time crooks make it big in America.Must be willing to go along w the program. Capitalism is perfect for crime, cause money talks loud. Imho, of course.

   I won't get into all of the conspiracy theories, but I do believe there are many agencies who watch the internet as a way to gather information and keep an eye on people. That not only includes FB, but any website used to convey people's information and ideas.

   Ooh. I love a good conspiracy theory.  I don't doubt the government is using this information though.  What better way to get info from people than to tap into a free service that everyone voluntarily uses to divulge their private lives?  Heck, I'm sure Obama loves knowing what everyone like to eat for dinner haha.  Even better the government tracks the emergence and spread of memes to understand societal behaviors....
