   Passive Aggressive?  You tell me.
   
   I just couldn't help post this because it may be my next hub so...  I asked my husband (who is a cook) if he would mind making me a burger with mushrooms & swiss.  He didn't really want to but he did anyway.  About 10 minutes later he presents me with a DOUBLE cheeseburger dripping with cheese & mushrooms.  I have NEVER made myself a double burger and he knows it (together 10 years now).  Can we say passive aggressive?

   There are many types of passive aggression.
   I have had employees who did not like the reviews that I gave them go to others in different departments to get alternative reviews despite me being their immediate supervisor.

      He did it again! Only this time he asks if I need anything from the back room. Thank you, I'd love some wine. He brings bottle & no glass.  OK! I've been chill all day & dealing with this but I might have to get aggressive on him.  GRR

      merej99, Why not just ask him if everything is okay? Maybe there's something bothering him.
      "Anger is the Mask that Hurt wears."
      I believe you can get to the bottom of this by calmly asking "Are you frustrated?" "Upset?" Get him to open up.

   It's funny, you give a guy twice as much as what he asked for and he's grateful! I suppose men spend a lot less time trying to "read into things" or look for the "hidden meanings" or figure out what someone (really) meant.
   Rarely if ever have I heard a man accuse a woman of being "passive aggressive". Trust me, it's not because being with a woman is always a "cake walk" or "a day at the beach"!
   Most guys would rather not come home to fight after working all day long or dealing with pressures outside of their home. They want to relax. If I asked my wife to do something and I could tell she (didn't want to) do it. I would tell her never mind.
   However for some people the way they (measure love) is by how many hoops their mate will jump through or things they will do for them even when he or she doesn't want to.
   I had an (ex) who was like that. :-)

      dashingscorpio - women are just as passive aggressive.  Anytime you send they're angry and they say they're "FINE".  Or if you say, "honey, can you get me a beer on your way back?" and she shakes it before handing it to you.  Stupid stuff like that.

      Valid points, However (men) do not refer to women as being "passive aggressive". They either take them at that word when they say they're "fine" or they really don't put a lot into trying to (figure out) if there is a "hidden meaning".

   @dashingscorpio - Sadly I know what's bothering him (and it isn't me) but when he gets frustrated or angry he ends up taking it out on me.  Altogether we have a healthy relationship but his coping mechanisms stink.  He's been a work in progress but when you work together, sleep together, ride together and there is little to no break it can test the patience of anyone.    Thanks for commenting.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
