What's your favorite comedy movie?
I have a few but when asked what's my all-time favorite, the very first one that comes to mind is Mean Girls. Others that I never tire of are The Princess Bride, Young Frankenstein, Arthur & Hall Pass.
"Airplane" (1980) - pound for pound, still the funniest damn movie ever made. I can quote it chapter and verse, yet when I watch it I STILL laugh at every bit, even though I've seen them a zillion times.
My wife can't stand "Airplane," which only increases my love for it. I was watching it on Netflix last week and she came into the room like "This movie AGAIN?"...haha
I find it so difficult to choose ONE favorite of anything, but especially when there are THOUSANDS to choose from. You know how to put the pressure on, Bk42. LOL
I have to say......from the "Classics," it would be "Arsenic and Old Lace." and as for currently......I am way behind in seeing movies because I actually WAIT until they're released. But, I'd have to say, "Wedding Crashers."..........Great question!
I was talking about Arsenic & Old Lace the other day. My husband has never seen it & I could not believe that! Classic!
"Meet the Fokkers" was quite funny, especially Robert DeNiro's role as a former CIA agent.
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room"
Meet the Fokkers & Meet the Parents were great! I didn't like the 3rd movie, though.
You ask some tough questions Bk42author; so many side-splitters to choose from
Anything starring Steve Martin cracks me up; ' Roxanne ' was a pretty funny movie, and your choices are just great. ' Young Frankenstein ' with Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman had some belting, subtle one-liners.
Have a lovely day!

It's always hard to choose just one favorite. But overall I'll have to say my favorite comedy is probably Grandma's Boy. I can watch it over and over again and it still makes me laugh every time. Others tend to get old after watching them a couple times.
I've never seen Grandma's Boy, I'll have to check it out sometime!
For me the all time favorite that pops first and usually is National Lampoon's Animal House. A classic. More than likely that is followed by one or two of Charlie Chaplin's films. The why of that is taking a class in college on his works brings fond memories and the many of his comedies too.
Animal House is a classic! I've always liked old movies but for some reason have never seen any of Charlie Chaplin's. On my to do list now!
Yes you should discover some of Chaplin's innovative work. He turned the silent film industry on its ear. His work is foundational to many comedic films today with plots, subplots, execution of comedy, timing, facial gestures, and more.
There are a lot... Dumb & Dumber, There's Something About Mary, Airplane, Nat'l Lampoon's Vacation... but I always find myself going back to Liar Liar. I can see that film a thousand times and still laugh at the same silly jokes.
Liar Liar is definitely one of my favorites as well. Love Dumb & Dumber too. My dad and I would watch that and Tommy Boy a lot.
Somewhat recent comedies I thought were very funny were "Bridesmaids" and "Horrible Bosses". But my all time fave is still "MY Cousin Vinny".
Horrible Bosses is hysterical, but then I love anything with Jason Bateman.
I like 'THE KID', A Wonderful creature of Charlie Chaplin.. Enjoyed much
While there are many wonderfull comedy movies like The Princess Bride, Naked gun series, Airplaine, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, City Lights and Hot Shots, as a big Marx Brothers fan I will have to go with one of theirs: Duck Soup.
Four great comedians in a single movie, each bringing different things to the table. Also quite unique to have a political satire in 1933. Mussolini banned this movie since he thought it was about him.
It's a movie filled with puns, zany visual comedy, unpredicteable jokes and some rather surreal jokes. Especially the war scene in the last ten minutes is brilliant.
It helps of course that the Marx Brothers practicly did even crazier stuff in real life than they did in their movies, and they have exellent chemistry since they performed together their entire life.
Throw Momma From the Train, always makes me laugh. Short Circuit l, Weekend at Bernies l, Inspector Gadget, (the movie), Ghost Buster.s l. Those last three are corny, but I still laugh!

I think I'll choose Young Frankenstein. It had a great combination of wit and slapstick, in addition to some memorable one-liners!

Your life is being made into a book or movie - what's the title? If there was a movie (or book if you prefer since we are writers here) what would the title be and why? What kind of book/movie would it be? Drama, comedy, action adventure, horror? lol I think I need to ponder this one a bit...

Every friday, my friends and I get together to have a movie night at someone's house. It is always a lot of fun but I have noticed that a magority of the movies we watch are duds. Could you help me out and tell me which movies are your fan favorites? I want to make the next movie night the best one...
