What if your hub is not a duplicate but they keep saying it is?
How can you get it approved if it really isn't a duplicate? I have written two hubs now that have bee unpublished because they say it is a duplicate when it isn't. I may have quoted some research but always site my sources.
I guess the burden of proof is on you at this point. So I would suggest to try what I do when I'm looking to see who copied content. Highlight 2 to 3 consecutive sentences and click search. The results will be on target for the first 3 to 5 results and after that they are usually very disconnected and way out in left field. If you have more than I think it is 10 to 15 words that are in one result, I was told it was duplicate content.
Highlight 2 to 3 consecutive sentences at least 5 times throughout your hub - so you get 5 different sets of sentences from different places in your hub and put them in search engines - pick more than one search engine - I use Google and Yahoo. The results are usually quite different.
In some cases, all you have to do is change the wording so it is not so similar to what you found in the search results.
In other cases, it is a case of spacing out the text and interjecting photos or videos.
If you are quoting someone and you have linked the quote, unlink it. Just cite it in text form.
If you are quoting someone and you are using word for word for more than 15 words, cut it down to 15 words. Citing sources is good, just don't link them if you have more than 15 words in the quote. The roaming robots don't understand quoting quotations at all so every one of them is called duplicate content and the Mechanical Turk workers don't know duplicate content from a quotation so they flag all of the hubs that quote. Most of them anyway. My 9/11 Spotlight hub got flagged because I quoted a bunch of people. My choices were to either remove the quotes or cut them down to 15 words. I cut them down and removed the links - instant publish w/no duplicate content flag.
So do the searches first, then take a closer look at the way you wrote the hub and quotes.
This may not be the answer. As you shared you cite sources. Remember they have to be in quotation marks and appropriately. Also, those web crawlers look at ratios of quoted to original. What that magical formula is I do not know. I do know from experience if too many quotes are used it will receive a duplicate warning. The last I have experience with is the content I duplicated twice while learning was my own content. One time from my blog site and the next time the content duplicate was another hub I wrote.
I found the issue and corrected it. It was actually peoples opinion of vaccination from a doctor, nurse and a mother. So I took that out and it was published again. I just had to reword it as to not be identical to what they had actually said.
Good, I thought the quotes might have been the problem. Glad it is ok now.

I am doing a 20 "such and such" quotes about "such and such" hub. I even went back in after they marked it duplicate and made sure 400 of the words are my words, even though I know people googling it aren't going to want to read my words and are instead just going to be coming...

I was just checking my stats when I noticed that a hub I published on 1-7-07 has been flagged and incurring a HP penalty for duplicate content. It's my highest earning hub and HP giving me a penalty-and then asking me to wait 72 hours for a review on something I published a year ago is...

I have just written a hub last night, about a singer, who has never been written about before, apart from on her own YouTube site, and I have been wacked with a duplicate warning and unpublished!!! How on earth can it be duplicate when the whole hub came out of my brain? On top of this it says it...

I have a hub that I have yet to publish. I've been working on it and then this warning suddenly shows up "WARNING [?]NOTE: A substantial portion of the content on this hub appears on other pages". How do I get rid of this warning? And how can I find exactly which part of this hub has the...

I would appreciate if Staff would tell me whether GamerGirl and Whitney, both of whom have chosen to crawl through all my output (output which staff courteously restored after I had totally deleted it on my sabbatical) and repetitively downthumb and flag me, have been assigned by staff as my...
