I know this question is discriminatory, but how would you Hubber moms like to spend Mothers Day?

I've just texted my son (I know, it sounds cold, but he's at work) and told him I'd like to go out for breakfast or brunch, then go on a Nature walk. What would you like to do on Mothers Day?

Sha.....Your Mother's Day suggestion sounds really awesome.  I'm sure your sweet son will be sure to grant your wish.
I didn't have to think very long to know what our special day will be like for me, GF.
I have 4 sons...all married w/kids.....I even have a great grand daughter.  2 of my sons, #'s 1 & 3 live out of State (California & Georgia).  I will get a Skype call from each of them...which I love because I get to see how the babies have all grown and it always makes my day.
Sons # 2 & 4  (like the way I refer to my sons as numbers? huh?)......will not only call me, but come to visit w/ their kids, bring a gift and invariably they will ask to take me for lunch or dinner.
At some point, I will bring flowers to the cemetery for my own Mom and precious sister.....emotional, but I want to.
This all happens the earlier part of the day.......so the 2nd half of the day, "Mom" does whatever the hell she wants!!
    Great question, Sha....and BTW..."HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!"

Paula, your day sounds perfect. In the case of sons 1 & 3, technology is a wonderful thing. Skype is a great invention! Enjoy your day and let me know how you spend the second half.

Happy Mothers Day to you and all the HP moms!

I'm going to sound mean by saying this but I spend every day of my life with my children. I take them fishing every weekend. As much as I love them I would like to spend mother's day with my husband at home watching the kids while I spend the day at the lake tanning, fishing, and swimming. It's not going to happen though. We will go fishing as a family like we do every mother's day and when the day is over I won't regret them being there one bit!

Maybe you can convince the family to give you a few hours of alone time. That would be a wonderful gift, peeples.

Spend the day in bed with hubby and re-enact our kids' conceptions! And other than this, just spending time with my children is fantastic.

Your comment gave me the giggles, bethperry. You can always start the day with re-enactment. Then have the kids serve you breakfast in bed. Just make sure they knock first! :-)

My daughter-in-law  and grand daughter are with her family for a wedding.
I sent a multimedia message to my husband and three son's (my grandson @ 2 doesn't have a cell phone) saying all I wanted for Mothers Day was not to cook anything and two hugs from each other them.   That would do it for me.  Yard work
would be nice, but that's pushing it.

I agree with you on the not cooking thing. Yard work is beckoning me also, but I would like to be pampered on Mothers Day. It's just me and my son. His dad died in 2005 and I have no life partner. I want to spend a leisurely day with my son.
