What is your favorite traditional Sunday dinner?

Sunday dinners with the family are weekly events we look forward to, particularly in American culture. Please share what favorite foods are included on your table for Sunday dinner.

My favorite traditional Sunday dinner would have to be Oreos. I also immensely enjoy looking at my fat in my mirror and crying while eating Oreos. I also enjoy paying women over the internet to eat food while using their webcam. Preferably eating Oreos. When people ask me what was the best day of my life, I often tell them it's the day I ran out of Oreos because I could then go to the store and buy more Oreos. Instead of telling my friends and family that I love them, I give them Oreos. My doctor told me I had to stop eating Oreos because of my chronic high glucose levels. That physician no longer practices.  I have a pet turtle named Oreos who discarded it's useless shell because it now only feels safe while eating Oreos. "I Can't Get No Satisfaction".......unless I eat Oreos. People often tease me and say, "If you like Oreos so much then why don't you marry them?" In which I reply, "I already have." When teaching anti-racism seminars I utilize Oreos to teach the people how blacks and whites can unite as one for the common good. My ex-girlfriend told me she didn't like Oreos. If I ever have a kid, I might name it Oshpitoreoshtic because it contains the word "oreos" in it, regardless of the sex. What is the next best thing to an Oreo? Absolutely nothing. Except two Oreos.

It has to be a traditional Sunday roast.

Preferably a roast leg of lamb, with mint jelly sauce. Roast vegetables, potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Yummy!

OK. I can see it all now on the Sunday table. We're all dressed in our smartest clothes, the fresh white tablecloth is laid and all the foods in their place:
Steaming roast beef on a platter with large knife and fork ready for the carving
A big tray of roast potatoes browned to perfection
    A tray of Yorkshire puddings
    A bowl of garden peas
A dish of carrots and green beans
    A large gravy boat
    Mustard
    Horseradish
    Salt and pepper
    Appetite.

This was a traditional Sunday 'dinner' in the north of England when I was a boy. Father insisted on best of everything and he always carved the joint!
It's not such a strong home tradition these days I think, many people preferring a family meal in a restaurant or pub.

Oh my, this is a wonderful Sunday dinner, chef du jour. You're right about it not being as significant as it used to be. Thank you for your answer.

Today? Not sure. It varies between tuna casserole and ice cream or something grilled with a salad and sourdough bread grilled too.

Yesterday, as a wee lad, it would have been a pot roast Sunday dinner with family. All of mom's best fixn's too! Maybe jello for desert.

Happy Mother's Day . . . and thank you mom for the memories of a Sunday Pot Roast dinner!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's and those who have the spirit of a mom too smile

I still get red and green jello all the time. I know them by color rather than flavor. I guess kid stuff rules many times. I love the green kind best smile

My favourite Sunday dinner is roast beef and all the trimmings. I love Sunday roast whether it is chicken, pork, lamb or vegetables. Aside from the good taste it is so easy to prepare and cook. I just love roast dinners with all the vegetables and gravy of course.

Me, too, liesl5858. Taste and preparation are key on a lazy Sunday. Thanks for answering.

Our family never had anything special for any particular day of the week. One day was much like any other outside of holiday meals.
