I have 6 weeks left in my pregnancy, any tips on how to be a little more ready/prepared?
I go back and forth between feeling totally ready to have this little guy come out, to feeling completely and utterly overwhelmed and unprepared. Any tips/advice?
Its probably THE most wonderful thing that will ever happen to you! We all go through the same thing but ALL is very worth it!! My only recommendation is to walk, wether its around the block, or to shop. It will prepare you for childbirth, strengthen you, and increase stamina. Remain positive, your body will kno what to do, if you allow it. When the baby rests, you rest. Listen to your body, if you are tired, rest. If you feel up to it, do more, but dont over do it. Moderation is key. Take good care of your self, eat well, , it will pay off in the long run. I wish you well !!
Aww thank you so much for such an awesome answer. I will try keep doing what is good for me and the baby, I hate not having the energy to do all the things I want to do. I have taken a lot more naps recently too so I guess that is good.
Yes it is, rest up!! and yr welcome!! such an awesome time for you!!
Out of my 3 children only one was born when they were "suppose" to. One of the 3 was 2 weeks late and one was 5 weeks early. So if I were you I would go ahead and have your bags packed if you are planning on having a birth away from your home. Also the car seat should go ahead and be installed if possible. As for becoming emotionally ready, well I don't think we ever get fully ready. It's a wonderful little life that will change our world forever. There is no preparing for that!! I agree with keep moving! Keep doing normal things. Oh yeah and sleep while you can because if you are like most parents, you won't be sleeping normal for the next 6 months. Good Luck!
Thank you for your help/advice I should probably install the car seat and figure out how to buckle, unbuckle, etc. hahaha I am going to go to the hospital so I should get my bags ready too. Any hints on MUST-HAVES for my hospital bag?
Chap stick, socks (hospitals get cold), phone or camera charger, comfy pillow (hospital pillows are thin), nipple cream if nursing because day one hurts, and change or small bills for coach to buy snacks out of machines if your hospital has those.
I agree with peeples, lots of snacks. I brought my own. crackers and peanut butter, combos, nuts, what ever you like. Extra underware. Anything you forget, your loved ones can bring you, let them help you, they want to be a part of the experience:)
Sounds good, thanks for all your tips! I'm trying to pack my bag now just to be ready
Oh, my. How I remember that feeling. There were times when I was so ready for my baby to pop out into this world and then other times when I would say, "Stay in there! Stay in there!" Haha. Life is easier when he is in your safe, protected womb. But take heart: Life is so much happier when he comes out.
My only response to your question would be similar to artist101's: Rest. Rest while you can. Rest because your body needs it. Self-care is vital for you and for the baby inside you.
But I would add: Enjoy this last month of pregnancy as you can. It can become physically uncomfortable towards the ends and emotionally sad. Being pregnant is a wonderful time that will end soon.
So, enjoy the day. Try to enjoy every moment of this day. You will be ready when tomorrow comes. For now, revel in this stage of motherhood.
Best wishes for a beautiful life with your baby!

I was watching a documentary on TV on how texting has completely replaced good old fashioned face to face communication. Apparently we have all become zombies. Especially our teens. Can you believe over 85% of teens are completely useless in communicating face to face with one another and depend...
