   What can a hubber do to ensure that only relevant ads appear on his/her profile and hubs?
   
   I've been on Hubpages for about 14 months now, and I notice that almost all the ads that appear on my profile and hubs are totally unrelated to the content on the page. I've looked for resources on how to make targeted and context-based ads appear on my hubs and profile, but haven't fund satisfactory solutions yet.

   Making use of the keywords is an essential way of allowing Google to place only the relevant ads on your hubs. Use the keywords over and over again to help Google understand what you are trying to bring across. In this way Google will place relevant ads on your hubs.

   Ads are keyword, key phrases, title, and importantly hub success orientated. An advertiser contracts with Google or Adsense. An advertiser is willing to pay for results within the market they are pursing. They set parameters with Google and Adsense. based on their criteria and the formulations of Google and Adsense for ad placement. It is how wide the artists brush is. Broad or narrow that is of concern. 
   
   Example: I wrote financial articles once. The ads were high value jewelry - diamond rings and etc, high value car ads (Lexus and such), resort vacations, financial institutions, and flying. As my article lost viewers the ads changed away from that narrow demographic market becoming more broad. In other words my article did not meet the criteria for those advertisers with a narrow market and the dollars (however that is calculated) that they wished to spend because of article popularity. It costs the advertiser to advertise. No results means no ad.
   
   Example: I wrote articles about writing with emotions in fiction. The ads placed on those were education based ads, self-help organizations / businesses, and freelance writing. One emotion I wrote of was Love. The article was about writing with that emotion. Some of the ads were for cards and literature for Valentines day, poetry orientated ads, and internet flower businesses.

   I used to find my ads sort of had some relevance to my topic, but it changed about 12mths ago. Now what happens is the ads on my page (At least some of them) relate to my recent Google searches. For example, I was comparing airline prices online and then viewed one of my Hubs and there were local airline ads on the page, same when I was browsing insurance.  Neither of which I write about. There was some media talk about this a while back and it was part of a Google upgrade or change. Google appears to look at recent searches and add what may be relevant ads to your page when there are Google ads on it, because it thinks it has learned your interests! Quite clever really!  My keywords take a back seat over this process these days!

      I've noticed this too! In that case, ads based on context seem to be taking a backseat these days.
