   I don't think most Christian's reasons for going to Church have to do with sin. Most Christians go to Church for fellowship. They go to get a sense of community and belonging, camaraderie and love.
   
   Also they go to be closer to God and receive God's word from their Priest, Minister or Pastor who they see as having wisdom regarding such things.
   
   They also go to worship God and thank him for what he presumably did on the Cross.
   
   Now personally I'm an atheist so I don't think anyone has to go to Church or appease any invisible beings for the things they've done wrong or for any other reasons I stated above. It's especially strange since Jesus who was also supposedly God, only sacrificed himself based on a standard of forgiveness he himself had set up which for some reason involved brutal bloodshed to save us from a punishment he decided on for sins that couldn't possibly have done him any harm (since an immortal perfect being cannot be harmed permanently). The whole thing makes no sense, but people are free to believe it and free to gather together with others who do to enjoy themselves and talk about their shared beliefs.

      You don't have to go to church to be saved in Christianity, that's ridiculous. All you have to do to be saved in Christianity is believe in Christ, his sacrifice, and repent of your sins, no church attendance or activity is required.

      Well, you have said it. Those are reasons to go to church. Although it is not a must it is very very important. And, it is one way for the body of Christ, the believers to remain united.

   When we are baptized we make a covenant with God that we will always obey his commandments. We are only baptized once, but we will all break our covenant with God.
   
   In order to renew our covenants we take the sacrament (the bread and wine that Jesus gave his disciples). We also increase our knowledge of God's commandments at church.
   
   I am aware that it is by grace alone that we are saved, but we still need to do work in order to use the grace. Antibiotics are useless if you don't take them regularly according to the instructions. Just believing that they will work does nothing. Same goes for grace. Grace is spiritual antibiotics. It has everything you need to be healed, but you need to follow the instructions or it won't work. You can't be saved just by believing that grace will save you.

   Real Christians   do NOT go to church, they are the church.     What the church world calls church are actually organizations of men and God has nothing to do with them.    That pattern was of the law and was finished and done away with at the cross.    It has been resurrected in its current system, by men for men and of men.    God now lives in His people and not in the buildings made with hands and run by men which have no part of God's Kingdom

   Unfortunately, Christians DO go to church for 'fellowship', but read the Gospels and you will see that this is not the central mission of the church; the Great Commission is. Secondarily, the church is meant for compassion and care for those who need help. Again, sadly, most Christian churches don't have a clue. bandbseminars.com
