What is more important when traveling?
Having done some traveling in my past whether local or abroad I have noticed that my preference on what is important to me shift over the years. From getting the luxury treatment, doing what saves money, to experiencing what the locals do. Is being a tourist overrated?
What I would like to know is what is more important to you when you travel? Experiencing the culture? Traveling on a budget? Food? Luxury?
Also what are some travel tips that you have when it comes to traveling?
My advices to you are the following.
Keep your pasaport in a plastic bag. And keep it always with you
Bring enough cash to exchange and spend and the following items.
Everything , you can think. You are going to need later.
You need to check the weather in the place. You are going to visit.
You need to bring credit cards.
Never let your bag pack from your body. You need to eat with your bag attack to your body. You need to sleep with your bag. You need to dobble luck your doors at the place. You are staying.
Write the telephone number and address of the near American Ambassy at the place you are visiting. In case you need help.
You need to take a good pair of walking shoes. I hope you have fun in your trip.
Where did you go erorantes?, how about just sleeping in the actual bag!lol :-)
If the bag was big enough. I would've slept inside the bag.lol:). I was in Central America. El Salvador. Too many mosquitoes around in the area. I got many mosquitoes's stings.
I appreciate all the feedback Daveadam and erorantes I hope to keep in touch for travel stories!
I've worked in nearly 40 different countries in the world over the last 20 years, & the best thing i did was to start taking a pillow with me especially on long haul flights or bus journeys....I like to travel in comfort, & i don't care about what peeps may think to what i wear etc.....As a British guy a lot of the places I've been to the people either see me as some great guy coz I'm British, or they hate me just because I'm British....So i respect everyone i meet in the whole world, & i try to give off the impression that the average British guy like me is a fair minded reasonable caring kind of guy, & that all the bad stuff that my government is doing does not have my support at all. :-)
You know what I always have my pillow on my side, even now just making the commute to LA I have a pillow and blanket in my car at all times, just in case I want to take a nap in my car if I am too tired to drive.
Good morning Mr.Daveadam. you are a nice person. Can I see one of your hubs. I do not know how to find it. If you do not have one yet. Please send me pictures from were you are visiting. Thank you. Good day to you.
We travelled around Europe /Britain in a camper van last year which was awesome /A sense of humour is very important as well as patience . Experiencing culture & trying the food makes our traveling a big adventure! We also did an Alaskan cruise/ Amtrack across America + Canada. We are in Spain now ! Travel is awesome !
We had been travelling for many years now and today, we are in Cadiz after 15 days of in Portugal. What I can say is be nice to everyone and good things happen to you. We have had no problem at all that has not been resolved. People are helpful in almost all countries.
