   Does everyone else share my sentiment that 3D needs to go away?
   
   As some of you may know, I'm not at all a fan of 3D movies. This also seems to be the case with most people that I talk to. Does everyone else think that this fad can't die fast enough?

   It's doubtful that it will be going away anytime soon especially when you consider the upcoming Star Wars movies, Jurassic Park, Avengers, and Avatar sequels. Any major fantasy/Sci-fi or Comic book hero movie will likely be considered for 3D and IMAX release.
   It increases the bottom line profits. Nevertheless these movies will always be available in "2D" as well. The choice is ours to make!
   Some people simply can't resist paying extra to watch a movie in 3D whenever the option presents itself. I imagine most teens and young adults will automatically choose 3D over 2D.
   If a movie is in 3D and 2D, Do you find it difficult to buy the 2D ticket?

   It can be hard enough trying to fit a flick into me and my significant other's busy schedules, but even worse is when the only showing on the day we can go are in 3D. So there isn't always a choice between the two formats, when your local theater has only three screens. Not to mention 3D gives me a headache if the movie has a runtime anywhere in the Avatar range.
   
   Now IMAX is great! I have no complaints against seeing a movie on one of those screens. Anyone who hasn't experienced a movie in IMAX, you need to give it a try.

      A local theatre with only three screens! Wow! You must be in a very small town. I imagine you do have other options though such as a multi-plex theatre in a mall or nearby towns. I suspect your theatre chose 3D because of the demand vs 2D

      I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Everyone I talk to only bitches about 3D. Maybe I'm too old school with how I want to see my movies.

   I don't watch a lot of movies in theaters and I definitely don't like 3D movies. Even with the new ways of making them, they give me a headache. As far as I'm concerned, they could do away with them and I wouldn't be missing anything.

   I certainly see their appeal. I think I have seen 2 movies in 3D. Whatever the first one was there was literally no difference from the 2D movie besides the price. The second was the movie Avatar (with blue people). I really liked that, but I dont think the price justifies it at all.
   
   Although I would hardly ever personally decide to see a 3D movie, if someone else was paying I would be all for it. I think they will get much better with time. Price probably wont though
