What makes the majority of humankind live a life which is fear based and security centered, instead

of living a life which they fulfill the most of their human potential, doing things that they love?

Well, humans do both. In fact, those are the only two things humans really do at all, when you break it all down: survive and love.

So I'm confused by your question; perhaps you could clarify?

I think this really depends on the type of person and their personal limits. It goes too far to say (even the majority) that humans live in fear and security. The extreme of this would be dictators who WANT power and aren't afraid of anything, but rather knock it down. The mild version of this would be people who reach for a goal that seams tangible only to get their heart's crushed and never try again. But I believe most humans lie in between. Most get up after a loss and try again, even if uncertainty still lies. If someone wants something, they reach to get it until they get it or give up. It's too easy to label humans as cowards and not see us for who we are, which is believers.

As children we never worried about "tomorrow" and everyday was a new adventure. However as adults when learn that we'll have to provide for ourselves most of choose the safety of going to school with the hopes that some (entrepreneur) or the government will hire us and provide us with benefits we can "count on". The hard lesson in life is oftentimes this doesn't work out  for us. Some of us come to regret we didn't take more risks in our youth to pursue our dreams.
From the entrepreneurial mindset it's an "eat what you kill" world. It's trading effort in for "profits" and not exchanging time for "wages".
Lastly I believe the vast majority of us were raised by (employees) and not (entrepreneurs). I would imagine anyone whose parents had folks working for them would likely believe that's how life is supposed to be. That's all they've ever known.
I read somewhere that Donald Trump never filled out a job application in his life! His father was a successful real estate investor and Donald took things to a much higher level.
In fact if he somehow lost EVERYTHING today my guess is Trump would not be trolling through ads on Monster.com or Indeed.com looking for places to email his resume.
When an entrepreneur goes belly up he or she usually looks for a way to launch another enterprise! They want to be their own boss and call the shots. If they were forced to work for someone else odds are they'd choose a career that involved sales where they could earn large commissions. An entrepreneur never wants a "cap" on how much he or she can earn for their efforts.
