In our world we seem to hear this term "tolerate" or "tolerance" used everyday and if you do not have tolerance for people, places and things, (so to speak) then you are looked upon as being "intolerant" and then you are not "tolerated" by those who speak of "tolerance" all the time.

So is there anything that you will not tolerate?

Does this make you someone who is intolerable?

Do you think "everything" and "everyone" should be tolerated?

    Anything you cannot "stand" ?

Please answer the questions and do not just make a statement about someone else's comments, at least not until after you have put up some answers.

    Thanks very much. big_smile

I tolerate no lies, abuse, gossip, slander, murder, rape, injustice, scams, fear, rebellion from my children...to name a few.

I do not tolerate people who talk trash and then act like everything is OK after they are proven wrong and do not apologize to everyone they tossed under the bus.
I do not listen to a gossip, if they start to gossip, I tell them to wait until I go get the person they are talking about, then the gossiper just shuts up instantly. big_smile

If you don't tolerate fear, kind of makes me wonder how you prevent your children from rebelling.

I said I do not tolerate them rebelling, I have no fear of it, I know they will "try" and rebel, but I do not stand for it.

I let them know that rebellion is not tolerated and that conversations are welcome.

They are not allowed to back talk their mother either. If they disagree they can state their case in a respectful manner or it will not be heard.

Sorry, what I meant was, do YOU use fear to stop them rebelling against you.

Love with boundaries lets them know I love them and boundaries cannot be broken. Boundaries keep evil out of the home, love in the home.

I can not stand getting shot at, never did get used to it, I will not tolerate the coffee pot being empty, and just because I tolerate the law breaker does not mean he shouldn't have to go to jail, despite how I feel about his soul.

Only while you're there...even so it becomes a routine like any other thing. You adapt or you suffer then you get out and adapt back to life or you go back. Jail and serving in the Marines have more in common then i could ever have imagined...you get to see pwople at their most basic operating level.

I have a problem with Christians argueing with Christians. That makes no sense to me at all, with so many that detest us we should be big enough to celebrate what we have in common.

Yes, argumentation and debate are ways that we learn. The process should not be taken too personally or a sign that something is fundamentally wrong because two people are in disagreement.

Tolerance is unsustainable as a moral ethic. In fact, it ends up being a joke: those that regularly beat the "intolerant" drum are being intolerant of those they are exoriating. The ethic falls stillborn from those that chant it. They end up being the hypocrites they despise the most.

A person that is tolerant of evil actions is morally challenged. Those that tolerated the gassing of the Jews didn't get off because they were "tolerant."

There is no virtue in being a "tolerant person." It depends on what you are being tolerant of that matters.

I wonder if GOD is intolerant of things or people ? smile

I also wonder if HE is "all inclusive" as many say ?

How about is HE "seeker friendly" ?

    "So many that detest us?"

You have to invent enemies to have them.
I do not think many people outside the fundies take you seriously enough to detest you! lol
