Do you know anyone who has gone on a Danger Date? Maybe you've done it yourself. Tell us about it.
Stories about danger dates are quite interesting. It's about dating someone you meet on the internet who is from a different background or place from where you are from. It can be dating across town, across the state, across the country, or internationally.
I'm not sure how you're defining "danger date". Just about everyone who meets someone they like online eventually decides to meet in person at some point. Some people email back & forth and chat on the phone for several days, weeks, or months prior to finally meeting.
I wouldn't automatically label it dangerous.
It's definitely not anymore dangerous than going to a nightclub and heading home with a (total stranger) after only a few cocktails and dances. Tons of people have had one nightstands including myself.
I suppose the danger element in such a scenario is higher for women than men. In my youth I use to live for such weekends in nightclubs.
The "Disco" era in the 70s & 80s was filled with Babylon Nights!
dashingscorpio.Yes, getting drunk at a bar and going to someone's home could have an element of suspense and danger in it, especially for women.. I've never heard of Babylon Nights. I guess I missed that. Was that like a prelude to the rave era?
During the Disco era most people didn't need to get drunk to go home with a stranger. In fact the majority of men and many women went to the nightclubs hoping to get "lucky". Alcohol may have given them "liquid courage". Babylon was a sinful city.
OK, I get it. Babylon Nights was the prelude to the hookup, or something like that.
Hearing about danger dating for the first time I think dating itself has a danger element to it, if you are dating a total stranger. It may be through internet or someone you met at a party, club, etc. Internet itself doesn't make things dangerous, it's the people who do.
I think dating someone across town or country is much safer since you don't get exactly to meet the person (not frequently at least). So it's more like a pen-friend rather than a date.
Blind dates may seem interesting at first, due to the "unknown" factor. But eventually the thrill wears off, it all depends on how the other person is.
I heard of danger dating for the first time when doing focus groups with people under 30 years old. Apparently, a person goes out with someone from a completely different background compared to yours.
I have seen shows on "Danger Dating" and I used to go on Blind dates when I was younger. I don't think you really think about it at that time, I know I was young & stupid. I'm pretty blessed though because the love of my life i meant from a blind date. However speaking from my past experiences I would never want my daughter to do the blind dating scene. I know I'm being hypocritical but that's just how I feel!
Blind dating probably is a little crazy no matter what gender a person is. I did it once and the person tried to trap me in her apartment!
There are many things parents have done that they would not want their children to know about or do themselves. Hypocrisy or the "Do as I say not as I do" philosophy is very common among parents.
Hi there! My good friend dated a girl from Russian bride agency https://mymagicbrides.com It was kinda risky, but she appeared to be a really good and lovely girl. They had a very good time together
Thanks for the link to the Russian bride website. That was interesting to read what they had to say. Cooking was mentioned several times! Beauty was mentioned the most. I liked the part where it said that the women are tired of drunk Russian men!

What does being single mean to you?Traditionally being single defined one's (marital) status. Anyone who is not married is legally considered (single) or available to get married. However most of us now place (dating couples) on the same pedestal as married couples. Therefore today we say single...
