How often do you edit/update your old Hubs, and does it help?

They always recommend to update your Hubs every now and then to keep the content fresh and current. Do you do this? and if so, do you see results (ie., rise in views, comments, etc?)

Normally I don't update as often as I should, but I'm starting an experiment where I update some of my older hubs with new photos/info to see if it'll help bump up my views. Has anyone else tried this? What were your results?

I update my hubs every once in awhile. I have done some and not all of them yet. It does help boost my score a bit, when I added a poll, new photo, new text, etc. You should update when possible to keep it recent.

I have just started a massive project of re-editing and freshening up my Hubs (i have done 20 so far this year). I haven't checked thoroughly, but there does certainly seem to be more traffic coming in.

What I did notice though is the effect of not updating your hubs. I took a year off from HubPages and didn't touch any hubs, add any new ones or anything. When I came back, I noticed that my traffic had dropped by 40% . Through my editing and activity, I have recovered around 10% of that so far.

So, I think that it may be more complicated that just how many more views you get. I personally feel that editing and keeping them fresh is also preventative, stopping them from slipping down the list on searches etc.

First, you must edit your hub to cut out grammatical and other errors. You may also want to re-arrange your ideas, facts and update the content where necessary.

You will be surprised how inadequate your hub looks months after it was published.

I try to update all of them every six months, whether changing out graphics, editing the description, shortening a title.
