Do you think Science of Star Trek is turning real?

   The fiction that we have been seeing since childhood some of it has turned into reality...
   Like a totally operation Computerized Space Ship, We have devised Ships that go into ourter space... Not in light Speed... but we are getting there aren't we...
   same goes with Communication (mobiles), then tracking system... nowadays Sattelite can track even people!
   
   So the Ultimate question is One day can we turn Science Fiction into total reality?
   What do you think?

      It always has been, we are just catching up with the rest of the Universe.  Not sure about little green men, but other life, for sure.  They have probabaly been working with our governement for some time and gradually breaking us into accept that this is our reality. 
      
      I am ready for it, not so much little green me, but hey maybe they can come and transport us to another world.  That would be neat, but if they are anything like us, I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to take us to thier leader lol. 
      
      You know, when the shuttle that took Armstrong  and Buzz out for the first walk on the moon,  the space ship was powered by a 64 bit computer.  Come on.  If we could go to the moon using a Nintendo computer, and space clothes made out of aluminum,  ohhhhhhhhh!!!!! we are on our way baby!
      
      Who says we were meant to stay grounded on Earth.  The futures so bright I gotta wear shades.  hahahah

         Likewise thinking... i would love to go to moon or Titan... or other Planets...
         That is cool i didn;t know that Armstrong's ship was powered by that type of computer... anyway when he went to Moon.. i wasn't even born but i have the paper clip of him and his ship on the moon... my sister kept it safe and sound...

         I agree too... but i think its going to take time to use the transporter system... i love that part you don;t have to catch buses... no traffic.. no nonsense and i would never be later to WORK!!! I am waiting... may be my children might use it...

      Thank You all for taking this Forum ahead,I had been out so was unable to follow... I have gained so much knowledge by just reading through this.. I really believe that there are many people who share my belief that one day we will turn fiction into reality... being a researcher myself i can feel that...

      whateva, they came warp speed to 1980, picked up a banana clip for Spok to wear cuz he lost his other pair on the intergalactic freeway, then went back to 1966 ready to take over the radio waves of the tv set.  LOL.

   I read somewhere that we are working on the "beam me up" theory,   and can do it to some extent now, tho some things didn't arrive exactly as they were originally.  Could mess up a human so I'm glad they are using "things." first.   Also, heard they could make troops invisible on a battle field with some kind of magnetic force field....isn't science great...Now if we could just make Bin Laden disappear.  think of the possibilites.

      It got very little press. Not a big fan of conspiracy theories, but the Bin Laden family and the Bush family go way back. And yes, they all got on a private plane and left for destinations unknown around that time.

   I watched a show on History Channel titled, "How William Shatner Changed the World" (hosted by him) which showed exactly how much that show influenced many, many of the things we use today... including cell phones.  They look very much like the Interprise crew's communicators, don't they? That's no coincidence.

    Yes the science of star trek is really turning real, because they caught all of the tech stuff on camera for the films and each individual episode of the many different series, I believe this actually happened, based on real events but the us governments covered it up as usual...the tarts!!!

    The Bin Laden's were allowed to leave, but this was an exception as most people were not allowed to fly that day.  I remember as I had a friend who could not fly that day, she had to take a greyhound to the east coast.

    What makes you think I could find a more conservative version of events?  I had never heard that had happened before.  All I know is my dad is an airline pilot and was frozen in NJ for sometime after 9/11.

       What makes me think that is the fact that this was not covered by the conservative news media.
       
       And there has been a lot of "spin," about the subject post-event.
       
       I also assumed that you have conservative political convictions to go with your religious beliefs. Therefore would be most likely to take your news from conservative sources.
       
       If that is not the case, I apologize most sincerely.
       
       This information has been reported in many "liberal," news sources. Unfortunately, Michael Moore (who has done more damage to the socialist cause than good) also ran with the connection between the Bush and Bin Laden families, which automatically throws it into doubt.
       
       Nonetheless, there are strong ties between the 2 families, and they were allowed to leave the US shortly after 9/11.
       
       I have no doubt your father was "grounded" during this time.

    I know there were no flights for regular people as my friend took a bus.  She would not take a bus to the east coast for fun, has anyone ever been on a greyhound?  It is not exactly a picnic .  Also, your dad works in the airline industry and I am sure he would know what happened that day.

    I agree with Research Analyst.  I watched a special (either on History Channel or Discovery) called "How Star Trek Changed the World," and it showed how the innovators of many of our modern, everyday conveniences were influenced by the original Star Trek gadgets. 
    
    So, to answer your question:  Yes, it already has - in many ways - turned real, and continues to do so.
