I think with the right information anyone can understand anything. People move up and down classes and people can have compassion for each other in all classes even if some suffering is ignored. People's value should not have an economic value and if there really is an "upper" class whose membership all truly believe that this is right then as someone from a lower class background that is the one thing that I will never understand. How life can be a number, how a whole group of people can be of lesser value just because they were born with less money than others. How some people are given more freedom, rights and chances just because of where they were born, how classes can exist when really we are all the same species. However that's just me personally.

When I was drafted into the US Army in 1965, I was a poor young black man from South-Central Los Angeles and most of the men I was stationed with were white and most of those whites were also middle-class, upper-middle-class, and a few were even wealthy.

Now, there was not a thing about those whites that I did not understand. And two of the primary reasons why are, my Mama taught me how to survive in this world under all circumstances, and the "black-ghetto public schools" I attended did a very good job of educating me and preparing me to deal with people from all walks of life.

The ONE THING that lower and lower middle class people WON'T EVER understand about upper middle and upper middle class people is how they can remain 'upper class' and keep a clear conscience.

Class is not an indication of understanding.

Why does or why should having a commercial mind make one "better"/"intelligent"? Its ludicrous to me.
