What is this conspiracy theory regarding September 23, 2015 and the issue of CERN?

According to some extreme and fanatical religionists, it is "contended" that September 23, 2015 will be the time of cataclysmic occurrences naturally and socioeconomically.  Such religious pundits even contend that CERN will "open" the gates to "more catastrophe".  Mind you, CERN is a device which will further explore scientific avenues and make further scientific advancements in our society.  What makes such religionists morbidly fearful of science and its advancements?

If you look at all the religionist predictions, let's say from 2000 on ( you could look further back and I am sure the results would be the same), you will find that their accuracy is terrible. It is more than terrible, it is statistically outrageously horrible. I will get lambasted for this, but here goes.

Folks who have been disillusioned with life and have sought some rules for living in society (which is changing very frequently), seek an answer for all that displeases them or has left them, they think, hopeless. In a world where people think independently and life therefore proceeds independently, such folks hunker down even more desiring a simplistic, static, easy way to explain why they are not happy. Of course, if they are not happy, it couldn't be their problem - the world must be about to end. And, further, those who do not see that must be all doomed. Hey, it could be. But probably not!

The best way to deal (notice I said deal, not understand), is to take a deep breath, read what you can, observe what you can, and rely on what you have seen go down in the past. Talk to associates. If things are so helterscelter that we should all be upset, you will know. The majority of us want to live in peace and are afraid of the same things. Attaining the age of 21 or above has probably given you enough experience with modern society to sense who has got it straight and who hasn't. What else have you got to go on, a bible written by human beings, rewritten in testaments with differences, developed over thousands of years living in a very hot desert, etc.?

If you want to believe in some sort of scripture, that's fine. But if you choose to be a little more inquisitive, love your children, care for your family, keep working for the general good, and don't let yourself get carried away too quickly. There are moments in time when there is no alternative but to go in one direction. Otherwise, live life to its fullest caring about others as has been written in many good books.

I think that people use the imperfections of humans to Judge the words of the Heavenly Father.  You can not because his ways are not ours nor his thought, he is advance of humans  he made us., man can only make a robot that can not reproduce itself.

Actually, we are coming very close to being able to reproduce ourselves. Many human organs are being grown in laboratory - kind of frightening that we can make spare parts, or is it? If you can make parts, pretty soon you may be able to make all.

This is a new one to me, I need to go read up on it.  I think with all "doomsday" kind of things; people are afraid of life in general, and so their imaginations get the best of them.

I am afraid of spiders, where most see a tiny house spider, I see a tarantula lol,  fears heighten our fight or flight response, and I think a lot of people are so mired in fear, they've lost the ability to be rational.  I think it must be difficult and sad to live in such a way all day every day.

Mt 24:36“Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.
the point clear in scripture even Jesus did not know so how can a human know.
that is how false religion feeds and mislead people

No offense kiss and tales, but  I don't need a bible verse on every question I answer and it seems that's all you ever have to offer.

This sounds like yet another doomsday fallacy.  People have been predicting the end of the world since the beginning of the world.  The most recent hoopla occurred in May / October 2011, compliments of Harold Camping, owner of Christian stations Family Radio.
I think john0000 and ChristinS are correct - doomsday cults are for people who are disillusioned / afraid of life.  They need to realize that no matter what happens, the sun will rise tomorrow and this old world will keep on turning and revolving around the sun.  We need to focus on our own responsibilities, instead of finding excuses to avoid them.  If everyone did that, we'd eventually create Utopia - which is entirely up to Mankind in the first place.

I remember that. People sadly gave up their life savings because of that man and it wasn't the first time he was wrong. I agree with you on accountability, but most people want to be comforted and not accountable.
