Is Alexander the Great really gay?
In the movie Alexander, Alexander the Great is in fact a homosexual. Is he really gay, or is that just movie or an myth
Alexander the Great is so long dead we can't ask him. Since bisexuality was considered pretty normal by his culture, it would be unsurprising if his very close friends were sometimes also lovers.
Diogenes of Sinope, a contemporary of Alexander the Great, believed Hephaestion to be Alexander's lover and a severe distraction from his military career.
It's all speculation about a dead man's love life. Gay and bisexual people have always existed and it's likely a percentage of historical figure were gay or bisexual.
This is a good answer. This answer also demonstrates how unimportant one's sexuality is as a world issue.
Great answer Kylyssa as usual. Gay, lesbian, and bisexual people existed in history and made great contributions to their particular civilization.
Alexander the Great fathered both legitimate and illegitimate children by various women. It seems he dabbled with men too, which was/is not uncommon.
In the movie Alexander, the king has three lovers portrayed: One is his wife and queen, Roxanna of Bactria. With her, he had a heterosexual relationship based purely on physical lust and political necessity. Another lover is Hephaestion, who is Alexander's best friend since childhood and whom he deeply loves as an extension of himself. With him, he had a homosexual relationship based on loyalty, admiration and strength. The third relationship was with Bagoas the eunuch. Oliver Stone's implication was that because Bagoas had been castrated, he was neither a man nor a woman. He was "neutral" or neutered. Because Bagoas was of no consequence, neither devious nor intelligent, he was essentially a loyal plaything for Alexander. Stone did not consider Alexander's relationship with Bogoas to be homosexual or heterosexual. It was neutral. Thus, in the film, Alexander and his generals are portrayed as sexually complex people (in one flashback scene, Alexander's father rapes a male servant) who regard gender as being irrelevant to sex. Compared to some of the others in the film, Alexander shows sexual restraint.

Is there a Zombie Apocolypse in our future? Some Americans believe it is starting to happen. As for the forensics department in Miami,Florida they feel that the new fad of smoking "bath salts" was the cause of the horrific mauling of a homeless Miami man. On Memorial Day 2012 Ronald...
