   Where were you on this day 14 years ago?
   
   Can you remember exactly where you were when you heard the news that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center?
   I was on my way to school, I was in 6th grade, and I remember being terrified. We had the news on all day at school and kept up with what was going on.
   I just want to take time to pay our respects to those who died in this terrible tragedy by remembering the day.

   I was working for Aspen Systems Corporation in Rockville, Maryland.  I first saw on the internet a headline stating an airplane hit the World Trade Center.  Tragic, but a bomber crashed into the Empire State Building in 1945 and I was aware of one close call the World Trade Center had previously.  Then there came the news of a second collision, then the Pentagon.  Then the towers falling.  I had two brothers working in Manhatten but I didn't know where.  A short time later my mother called and told me everyone in the family was safe.

   I was a high school senior, I came home from school and saw it on the news and I was like WTF???!!!  The next day in school that was the only thing all the seniors were talking about during lunch time.

   I had just got home from work-I was on the night shift.  I didn't sleep good the day before-had a couple hours of sleep since I had to go in work early on the 10th.  So when I got home it was 84 I turned the ringer off on the phone in the bedroom so I would not be interrupted.  When I was in bed, I heard the phone ringing downstairs.  I didn't answer it.  I found out later that it was my mother calling me to to tell me about the trade centers getting hit.  It wasn't until about 12:30 when my step-daughter rushed in waking me up to turn on the news.
   
   I was up the rest of the day with my eyes glued to the tv and rushing around getting things for my husband.  He was still in the National Guards and his unit had been activated.

      I had been out of the military for about 5 years.  I would have been activated too but was glad I was out at that time since I had two daughters who were in elementary school at that time.  Would have been hard on them if both of us were gone

   In my truck, on the way to my office at Michaels.com. I heard the radio report about a plane hitting the first tower, and I remember thinking that some rich fuckwit had lost control of his latest toy. When I walked into the office, which was usually a beehive of activity, nobody was there, and it was quiet. Everyone who was already at work was in the conference room, watching the big TV. One of the assistants came out crying, and asked if this was the end of the world.
   
   Our VP told us we could go home, to be with our families. Lots of people with kids left, to go get them. I stayed, avoiding the TV in the next room, and answered emails. When I finally left around 3 or so, I drove around the outside of DFW airport to get home. All the planes had been grounded, so it was silent. The runways closest to the road were being used to park the planes. It was so strange to see them lined up, just sitting there.
   
   I didn't see the planes hitting the towers until that evening, when I finally turned on the TV at home. I sat there, crying. I'd lived in New York when I was just out of grad school, and the view from our fire escape was of the towers, across the water. It was hard to wrap my mind around the idea that those enormous buildings didn't exist any longer.

   I was on the other side of the world, and did not even find out until the next day (don't watch much TV).
   I think that saved me from a lot of the shock and horror watching it live would have.
   The most distressing thing is how some Americans and crazies from around the world try to blame the US for the attacks. Even more distressing (and ridiculously inane) are the 'conspiracy theories' which can be explained away to anyone who is willing to open their eyes. Instead, we have deluded clowns thinking the 'Big, Secret Plan' was to have two gigantic planes with hundreds on board attack the gigantic Twin Towers in a place like NY where there would instantly be thousands of cameras focused on to record every detail! That's seriously not how major secretive things are conducted.

      Open your eyes and look at the evidence. This was clearly a false flag event, assisted if not masterminded by Cheney and Rumsfeld. It was used to justify 2 wars and the "patriot" that had already been written.

      'Clearly' if you choose not to question the 'evidence' which alleges that. Analyze each crackpot theory and you find they have so many holes in them, its absurd. Of course, the alternate theorists don'  want to look at the holes in their own stories.

   I was at work and saw headlines on the internet about a plane hitting a building in New York.  We had a TV at work and immediately tuned in and watch the continuing coverage.  Our company let everyone go home to be with family and gave everyone the option on the rest of the week to return to work. It was quite strange to see no aircraft flying since I live in Houston and we are accustom to seeing planes coming and going all day.  Later that day it was eerily quiet on the streets of city of 4 million people.

   There are those catastrophic events throughout our life when it is not possible to forget where we were, what we were doing and who was nearby, when we first learned of it.....(the assassination of JFK? Death of Princess Diana? the O.J. verdict?)....
   On 9-11, I had only been at work a few minutes, when my assistant who was on the phone, turned to me and said, "Were you listening to the radio on the way to work?"
   Well, quite unusual that I had not had my radio on, I inquired as to why?
   From that point, she and I went in search of the first TV we could find.
   Frankly, the remainder of that particular day is a blurr.  I do however clearly recall the days and days of news, information, reports, videos and all the horror, sadness & outrage that followed.
   Today will remain one of the indelible marks I know I for one, can never forget.  My heart was, is and always will be with everyone.  An egregious, unforgivable act of unadulterated hatred that literally changed the world as we had known it....forever.

    To all those that commented and want to blame the U.S. for Iraq, do you really want to drag this up on the anniversary of 9/11? The war was not based on lie by the administration. It was voted by a bipartisan majority and was, only later when the progress went sour, did the democrats made it into a conspiracy.  The lie was Saddam Hussein who claim he has WMD and all intelligence community bought into that lie. The other big lie was we were all about getting their oil. We lost treasures and lives trying to give Iraqi a chance at democracy. We did not take one drop of oil. Hind sight is 20/20 but stop this re-writing of history. I just want to say a prayer and hope we don't have another incident when our guards are down.

    I was at home and my mom came into my room in the morning to alert me that something terrible had happened. I watched a little news then proceeded to go to work. It was really eery because there was no traffic on the way to work, no sounds at all. Not even dogs barking. Every half hour fighter jets would fly over the city, but that was the only sound.
    
    Nobody came into the restaurant that day, and it seemed as if I was living in some sort of alternate universe where I was the only one alive. It was so dead quiet.. that's what I'll always remember about that day, and the weeks to come. I imagine everyone was huddled in front of the television. Nobody was outside. No kids playing, no nothing. Just fighter jets going over us day and night.

    I was a 7th grader in Texas and found out during Science class. I remember us listening to the radio in the class room, a lot of kids were picked up early, and everyone was wondering if any more attacks were going to happen and why. A lot of calls to relatives in New York (fortunately none were near the towers during the attack) and a lot time glued to the news that night and week overall.

    I was at work (on a sales desk) - word started coming in of the attack and the phones stopped ringing and the entire staff stopped everything and were glued to a TV for the rest of the day
