   Most of mine are featured, but what does it matter? Some people have less time to update, and there are many reasons that have no relationship to quality of writing. Featured/unfeatured status can be subjective, or based on insignificant criteria. In no way should it be an item that causes anyone to pass judgement on the writer or the collection of work.
   Considering the consternation this stat has caused, it probably should be eliminated. I don't see it as helpful in building the community.

      I'm conflicted on this. I do think some stats should be kept private. If a hub is unfeatured due to lack of updates, that seems unfair. It comes down to how one determines the quality of a hub.

   That is an interesting question and because, as a Baseball fan, I love stats, I decided to look into it, here are my results.
   
   I have 212 published hubs of which 141 are featured putting me at roughly 67% of them being featured. I didn't realize the number was so low but as I began to investigate these numbers I was startled when I realized that one of those un-featured hubs had over 4,500 page views (PVs) and another ten ranging from 1,000 to 3,800 PVs.
   
   Of the 71 un-featured Hubs, I learned that 40 of them had at least 500 PVs.
   
   Also another stat that stood out is that of those 71 un-featured Hubs 39 were written about Nibiru Planet X and the Polar Shift. To me this is a good sign because I recently have come to accept the very real possibility that most of the information about Nibiru Planet X and any possible Polar Shift was conceived of and spread as Fear Porn and Disinformation designed to confuse the masses about a massive False Flag Event that has thwarted by the Guardian Alliance and/or Sphere Alliance (Secret Space Alliance).
   
   This is not to say that Nibiru doesn't exist, it just was not allowed to be used to diminish the population of the planet and cause a Pole Shift as it had been used in the past.
   
   But back to the topic at hand, when I reviewed the stats I realized not one of the un-featured Hubs had garnered double digit PVs in the last 30 days, which would seem to justify their inclusion as un-featured.
   
   However any Hub that gains at least 500 PVs, of which I have 40 of 71 that are un-featured, tells us that at least 500 people found them to be useful and read them in their entirety and of those 40, eleven are over 1,000 PVs shows that perhaps this stat is a little misleading and at the very least deserves further review.

      Your response tend to confirm my believe that there is some thing amiss with the current HP quality process. As I understand it, there is some artificial intelligent software along with traffic and a few other parameters that determine "feature" hubs

      The info of featured and UNfeatured hubs is always on our own PRIVATE stats page.  We can all see and read.  It does NOT need to be posted on our public profile page!  Period, the end.

      All you have to do is make one small edit to each non-featured Hub, and they will be featured again. They can never get organic search engine traffic again unless they are indexed.  The non-featured Hubs come with the no-index tag, etc.

   This NEW information HP has chosen to place on our profile site~# of hubs written vs, # of hubs featured is, w/o a doubt, the single-most INSULTING, rude & disrespectful move against hubbers that they have taken thus far.
   I don't "think" they gave us a courtesy warning on this latest SLAP in the face It's unnecessary, unacceptable, ungrateful and totally NON-motivational.   
   
   Who knows what their reason (EXCUSE) is? they'll come up w/ some stupid crap!
   Wanna talk "business?" OK, let's do that. Here's something to think about: When was the LAST time U walked into a place of business or read an ad for a business, where we see..."Julie's Cafe," where 9653 meals have been served this yr..ONLY 898 WHICH HAVE BEEN RETURNED BY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS." "Walter's Insurance Agency: Where 65,000 satisfied clients outnumbers the 23,000 who have dumped us in mid term!"
   I've made my point, regardless of whether U like it or not, agree or not.It IS what it IS!
   
   Obviously, it is not enough of a hassle & annoyance that HP F- -ks w/ our hubber score constantly. THEY DO NOT CARE THAT DEDICATED, hard-working writers find this issue very debilitating. (Except of course for those who run 98 to 100 constantly & R the 1st. to tell the rest of us that HUBBER SCORE IS "INSIGNIFICANT." Yeah, we know, Thanks for nothing.
   
   It must also not be enough that HP has the most backwards, ill-conceived, LAZY means of "banning." It's simple for them.No muss no fuss, no common sense, no fairness, NO INVESTIGATION, ZERO Justice......If some jack ass wants to FLAG someone, even though THEY THEMSELVES have been the culprit repeatedly & THEY have been the one who has insulted, broken a rule, made personal attacks.Oops, well sorry..THEY were first to hit the "report".That's all HP considers. They have no time nor do they care what's right or fair. They'd rather kick their good hubbers around.
   
   Now, all you HP ass-kissers can defend them for what they have just done. Do NOT plead ur case to me!  Talk to each other. & ALSO B-4 U think this is wholly "personal" on my part?  I have 100% featured hubs. My anger & disgust is for those of my fellow-writers who are appalled, angry, insulted and feeling very defeated. I am not The Lone Ranger, have never been in my life & never will be. I DO care about others & I WILL speak up.This is America, remember? Unchain your brains &take the tape off your fingers, chicken shits!
   90% of the time I find trouble, it's on behalf of OTHERS...not 4 myself.

      Paula, I totally agree with your sentiment on this but may I suggest channeling your anger into some positive action? I think HubPages staff is overwhelmed and they are just trying different things to improve quality and traffic. Let's help them.

      EXACTLY, this new "feature" is totally demoralizing to the writers.  How DARE they?  HubPages should do a COMPLETE REVAMP of its staff & get professionals who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. YES, I SAID IT!

      Whether or not your % of hubs featured changes from time to time..IT SHOULD REMAIN PRIVATE INFO BETWEEN WRITERS & STAFF!!  Not the world!  This is the Stock Exchange!  It's a writer's site.
