Why do altruistic people tend to attract more negative, vampiric, & even predatory types of people
than selfish people who tend to attract more positive, confident types of people in their lives? Analytical, mature answers please.
It is clear that predatory, vampiric, negative types of people want the easiest targets and that would clearly be altruistic people. It has been reported recently that the female suicide bomber who blew herself up in Paris called out "help me, help me" to ensnare altruistic officers and special forces into her trap before blowing herself up.
Altruistic people often give people the benefit of the doubt and turn the other cheek to their detriment and often to the benefit of the predator's goals. Unfortunately, these types of interactions happen anywhere, everyday.
Until the altruistic realize that there is a fairly large number of people who will take advantage of them, injure, or even kill them, they will endanger themselves mentally, physically, socially, career wise, and financially because they are not actively making efforts to ensure their best interests against these types of people.
Unfortunately bad people do prey on other people's trust, but I don't think that means that people should be less giving or selfless. For every bad person there a hundred good people in legitimate need of help.
I don't think selfish people attract positive, confident people. That seems counterintuitive.
I believe they do because they exude a respect me, I don't take crap attitude. Selfish people do attract confident people because they are confident themselves! Altruistic people exude a walk on me attitude which attract more negative people.
I think you are making some massive and inaccurate generalizations.
I have seen this firsthand. Altruistic people are crapped on while selfish people are respected!
That's anecdotal evidence. Cannot be applied to every other person in the world. I know plenty of confident altruists and plenty of negative, insecure selfish people.

When will altruistic people realize that their altruism makes people see them as weak, foolish, &causes them to always end up last? What makes altruists even being disdained by their own family members? Will altruists learn to say no & mean it?

Why are ruthless, selfish people MORE RESPECTED & oftentimes MORE SUCCESSFULthan kind-hearted, altruistic people? How would you raise your child to be if h/she wishes to be respected & successful- ruthless/selfish or kind-hearted, altruistic?

Don't you agree that the best company for a selfish person is a self centered person.I think both will make each other happy without polluting the lives of selfless people.

Why are selfish & self-centered people the happiest & LEAST likely to be taken advantage of, evenADMIRED by others while unselfish & altruistic people tend to be unhappy & are MOST likely to be taken advantage of, even DERIDED by others?
