   What can we do about ISIS?
   
   If you were in charge here in the US, what methods would you use to protect the country's citizens against the ISIS threat?   What can you do to protect yourself?

   In this day and age, we all need to pay attention and watch our surroundings where ever to go, shopping centers, theaters, sports arena schools and churches...and this apply to anything suspicious same with our friends and relatives. Whether terrorism or mental disease, the first line of defense is the people closest to the potential assailants. There are usually signs that something is amiss and it is better to be safe than sorry. We need as a nation take lessons from Israel since they have been dealing with this for decades. Their approach to airline security is much better than our TSA procedures.

   Reduce overall funding and spending (which has been in the trillions lately), revert some of that to putting security borders up (fully, Mexico and Canada). There is no point in TSA and guarding airports or having check points and crossings at the boarder if there's not a full parameter at the boarders. You wouldn't put a fence around 3/4 of the prison yard and only guard those three sides, right?
   
   Then with the remaining funds, produce teddy bears programmed with movement sensor. When movement is detected, they target the movement, then go repeating "give me a hug, give me a hug". Nothing violent (no bombs, etc.) just hugs... but made out of bullet proof material so they are nearly indestructible. Can you imagine how annoying it would get to be chased by hugging teddy bears you can't destroy?

   Put me in that category of people who believe there is absolutely nothing you can do about ISIS other than lead a kind and loving life. There is nothing that can be done to protect oneself from someone who fervently believes that God himself has directed him or her to go against every human instinct of self-survival and sacrifice themselves to kill as many "infidels" who don't see the world as he sees it, and in so doing, will not only earn God's favor, but a place in heaven for doing so.  It's a mass psychosis, I believe, similar to many that we have seen on individual levels (anorexia, self-destructive behavior)  and in groups  (cult membership, etc)  When the human mind has been re-conditioned and re-constructed in this way, there is nothing that can be done (especially in this case) unless you are willing to sacrifice thousands of innocent people, and then you've become as psychotic as the psychosis you're trying to rid yourself of.
   
   Peaceful people around the world have to be visible in their expression of anti-war, anti-military, anti-hatred, anti-revenge to be heard over the aberrant thinking. We need to express it in our writing, in our art, in our media.  Since the age of modern industrial military complex and of course, for ages before that, mankind has reached for and depended on killing for its survival.  It hasn't worked since World War II and it can't work in today's society.  Until we are able to change the radical, psychotic thinking of the young 20-30 year-olds who have been duped into this mindset at the peril of their own lives and the hundreds of lives they take with them, all we can do is stand together in peace, to be louder than the discord. If we had done that after 9/11, we would have never have gotten to this point.  It's important to learn that lesson for the sake of humankind.
