   Which cheese would you buy?
   
   I am doing a study on Behavioral Economics and would like to have as many answers as possible. There are no wrong answers. Please answer which cheese and why. Thank you very much for taking the time to answering this question.

   If the choices are the cheeses shown  in the photos then I would buy the Colby Jack for $3.  Best flavor and best price.  Assuming everything else (other than cheese style and price) is the same.  Can I ask what this is intended to demonstrate?

      behavioural economics theory is that people would by the 2nd most expensive cheese.  Not me. I'm cheap. I guess they are thinking people with money

   The plain cheddar - for versatility if I'm shopping for just me and if I'm shopping with others in mind I think it's less likely to be disliked by someone AND it's still versatile.
   
   Not sure what the second one is, but it looks like it has stuff in it.  I always err on the side of no-stuff in something (unless I have a specific reason for choosing extra stuff mixed in).  I'm a mother of grown kids and sometimes have someone stop by, but I also shop for just me.  Either way, versatility and "least risk of  objectionable-ness" are my priorities.  One most often can't go too far wrong with "basic" (but a good-quality "basic" ), so price isn't really, or at least always, my main consideration.
   
   All that aside, a couple of them look kind of sickening.    lol
   
   Keep in mind that I'm thinking in terms of shopping for "everyday".  If I were entertaining enough people I'd probably buy "all of the above", or at least more than one of the above.
   
   Just a note:  Cheese has a high risk of looking sickening if the person viewing is looking at too much of it at the same time.  The packaging of the cheeses in the picture does nothing for the person who doesn't like looking at too much "gross looking food" at the same time.    If the packaging were different my reply here probably would have been the same, and for the same reasons I stated above.  BUT, my choice would have been a little more difficult because I would have been less likely to so automatically rule out my own taste preferences before making the most practical choice.  It depends what that second one (right after cheddar) is.
   
   The looks of the last the two is enough to make me decide not to buy any!    (lol)  As it is, I had to overcome my own aversion to too much "gross looking food" all in one picture to be able to remind myself that if I were buying cheese I'd pick up the cheddar (that's too orange in my book) and not have to look at the rest of the cheeses in the picture.
   
   I'm the first to admit that my food preferences and lack of interest in food are only slightly more mature/refined than those of many six-year-old kids.  I just always figured it's because I was a girl, and while boys start caring more about food once past six/seven many girls/women never care all that much about it (except when it comes to getting nutrition and/or feeding their children)   
   
   Something like a basic cheddar lets you know what you're getting in calories/fat/nutrition in the most simple way.

   I like the pepper jack best. but use Chedder the most. I go with PJ.
