   Where does mental health fit into our society when will it become a political platform ?
   
   Gun control, birth control health insurance for cancer and preventative physical ailment . Mental health is one area where very little is trained and very many suffer . When will society use technology like assay for depression during annual exams or better insurance coverage for child therapist and psychiatrist. It seems we treat mental illness as a criminal problem rather than a health problem and we leave very sick people suffering without proper mental health care because we don't even train first responders well . When will we understand the brain is an organ as well and people suffer

   One of the problems modern society has is over-generalizing mental illness. Thus doctors give medication to introverts diagnosing them with social anxiety disorder and don't have resources for schizophrenics, diagnose kids with poor social skills with autism spectrum disorder and treat those children but have little left for the retarded

   Too many people with mental health are leaders in the government. To be meaningful the question needs to provide a definition of what is mental health today. So at least to contrast against a model that can be compared to define mental health problems.
   
   Do we use the majority of people as the in mental health group, and the others as having mental health problems???

      Good point .  What is the current definition of mental illness by 2016 standards , yet how do we also define what mental " health" should look optimally sound

      Normal used to be a satisfactory definition for all cases, but today what is normal was abnormal years ago. I guess the base definition would start with biologically healthy. As in no tumors, or missing parts, biological disease free.
