   Would you delete a question you posed if it had 156 answers and 2, 404 views so far when ...?
   
   I need feedback as I had recently posed a question which, apparently, is a "hot" topic question, and I am thrilled so many answered the question and it has so far produced views into the thousands. So, what is the problem, you say? Well, apparently somehow a "Best" answer was chosen on my question, when I did NOT choose it! I am so upset about this, being so many have answered, when a person who just joined HP answered my question, and then her answer was chosen immediately as "Best" when I did not choose it! I had not planned on choosing a best answer anytime soon. It's not fair to all!

      Thanks Eric.  I don't want to delete the question at all, but I don't want it showing that I chose Best answer, when I did not choose that Best answer, and to be fair to all who answered the question. I hope HP can undo something I did not choose.

      Yes I saw that issue. I can see your point. I feel your aggravation. That is a case that you may be justified. A somewhat moral issue. It is like attributing words to you in a lying manner. Did you answer your own question. That may be a remedy.

      Hi Eric, yes, it is a matter of principle to me.  If it was an insignificant question,  I would just delete it. Exactly, it is as if someone else chose my words! Answering my own question may help to satisfy, but it will still show another's choice.

   Well I know there does not have to be a reason for anything as Best Answer I chose became hidden I assume from readers who wanted to "win" the argument which is definitely not right either! I guess all the kinks still are not out here and I would never suggest anyone (much less you of all people) would imagine or just make this up! I would contact HP about it if I were you for it certainly is not right!

      Yes, I have contacted HP, but no answer yet.  A techy person on a forum suggested I change my password as it seems it has been hacked.  There is no way I chose a Best answer as I had not planned to do so anytime soon. It is the principle of it ...

      If you had been hacked I think they would have done more damage than that! lol I have never heard of a Best Answer hidden, have you? Yet I guess that is possible with down buttons still at play!

      You're right about that, I guess LOL, but I am just upset that I did not choose a Best answer and somehow it was chosen.  I would not have chosen that answer as Best.  Yes, that is odd about your pick being hidden, but the answer was hidden too?

      There were a lot of answers hidden on my question too, and they were perfectly fine?  Maybe too many people voted down a particular answer and it goes hidden, possibly?  Who knows!

   I am under the impression that only the questioner can select a "best answer", No other person can do that for you.
   Having said that people can vote thumbs up on a particular answer.
   You should get in contact with HP and let them know somehow a best answer was chosen that (you) didn't choose.
   Even with that I don't see why you would delete the question.
   If it's still getting views, answers, and responses. I've seen questions that are 5 years old still getting responses.

      That is my understanding too, Dashing ...I have contacted HP, but have not heard back.  It seems once a "Best" is chosen, you cannot delete that answer, as I have tried and asked the person to repost.  Maybe there was some sort of glitch that day?

      It is true once a "best answer" has been selected it's written in stone sort of speak. Sounds like an unfortunate glitch to me. I doubt someone was so interested in the question that they would hack into your acct just to select a "best" answer.

      I doubt that too, but I am so bewildered as to how that happened.  To be fair to all those who answered and many who commented, plus I feel wronged that I didn't choose the "Best" answer.  I don't want all thinking I chose that answer as best!

   I definitely would not delete the question while I was still earning from it.
   I am sure Staff will respond after the weekend.  A little patience may be required but they will, I have no doubt:)

   If you are certain you didn't select it as Best Answer, I would definitely look into changing your password.  It's my understanding that only the Hubber posing the question can select this as an option.  I would also hold HP's feet to the fire, so to speak, to find out how this could happen.  And how someone can hack into our password.  That's more than a little disconcerting.  They must have a way to track the time when it was selected, etc.  I've been following your Q&A with interest, and I must admit that I was a little surprised to see the Best Answer choice.   Good luck!

   Faith, can you not delete that answer? If not, can you not add a comment saying that you did not select this answer? I don't know because I don't usually post questions, but I certainly wouldn't delete the whole Q&A thread.

      Hi MizB, No, once a "Best" answer is chosen, it can't be deleted.  I tried!  LOL and I made a comment and apologized and asked her to repost her answer because I did not chose it.  HP is checking on it now.

   I would not delete the question, Faith. Wait and see if HP can do something about it, until then I would take MizB's suggestion and post a comment explaining that the "best" answer was not selected by you etc.

      Hi John, I don't want to delete the entire question, but It seems you can't delete an answer once chosen as "Best", as I tried and did make a comment and apologized and explained I did not chose it.  HP is checking though!

    Hooray!  Well, I have my answer to my question here, and that is that I don't have to delete my question because Matt and the HP Team removed the Best answer that I did not choose on my hot question! So now I am free to choose "Best" answer when I so desire. 
    
    Thank you so much for fixing this problem, as it felt as though someone was putting words in my mouth with an answer I did not choose as "Best".

       IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THAT SAME QUESTION??? Again, I did not choose Best answer yet, but there is an answer saying it was chosen as Best!  Will contact HP Team once again.  This is growing wearisome.
