   Hi Ramona.
   If I look at the dictionary's definition of compromise it says "when there is a agreement or settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions". And that then could mean having an outcome that gives you both something, but something of a lower standard. So for instance its Saturday night one partner wants to go to a Japanese Restaurant while the other wants to go to a Italian Restaurant. To meet each other's needs they make the compromise to miss out on the aesthetic ambience of going out to a Restaurant in favour of staying home because here they can order takeways for their Japanese and Italian dinner needs. So both have want they want to eat but they compromised on the environment they'd be enjoying their meals within.
   
   An adjustment? Is "a small alteration made to achieve a desired fit, appearance or result".
   So say you break your arm and its in plaster for the next X weeks/months. Your employer adjusts your data entry workload and KPI expectations until your arm is out of plaster.

   An adjustment could also be deemed a compromise. It just depends on what is the subject, and why was an adjustment suggested?
   Also, an agreement could be made by giving concessions, or adjustments. The goal of doing so would be to get an agreement.
   Compromises don't really create good agreements. A good agreement is when both sides match either by giving more on their side, while asking the other side to take less. Is this a compromise, a concession, or just being fair.
   An adjustment could also be a mechanism to make up for an error, say in math, or for a service that wasn't all successful. For example, it turned out that a cheaper, or more expensive part went into the project. The adjustment would make it right without scrapping the completed project.

   An adjustment is usually related to making a "change" or "correction" in how something is done in order to accomplish a goal.
   A compromise however can be made simply to keep the peace.
   Example: This time we'll see a movie I want to see and next time we'll see one you want to see. It's a way of making sure a relationship isn't one-sided where one person (always gets their way).
   It's been said: A great compromise is when both parties walk away unhappy.
   One should be careful not to compromise on their beliefs just to remain with someone. Never lose yourself or sell your soul.
   Compatibility trumps compromise!
   Ideally you want to be with people who (naturally) share your same values and want the same things you do regarding (major things).
