   Why does my dog try to drink soapy bathwater?
   
   I have 3 dogs, one of them INSISTS on trying to drink soapy bathwater. Picture of the offender below. Any idea why she does this?

   My instinctive thought was, maybe your dog is missing some mineral that is contained within the soapy suds? Do you know whether it's a simple innocuous brand? Or whether it has some toxic elements in it? If she's swallowed it, I'd say at the very least, she may have an upset stomach; and may  want to empty her bowels more than usually. If unsure, always best to check with the Vet.

      I was going to tell you what one of my dogs did and forgot but he used to lick cinder blocks. Back when my furniture consisted of cinder blocks and boards for bookcases my little dog could be found sitting next to one of the blocks licking away...

      Are cindrrs what we call pavers?  Maybe your dog cissy needed some minerals? I mean us hunans are found to eat dirt, rocks and chalk for instance. Medico's usually have found these infants or pregnant adults needed some missing trace elements

      I looked up paver but I can't figure out if it's the same thing. But I agree that something was missing from his system and that's why he licked the blocks. I tried licking one once and it didn't do anything for me--and it scratched my tongue..

   Good answer ThreeKeys but I think it's a bit more complicated. As you said she's a handsome girl and sometimes handsome girls can develop obsessive behavior. In this pretty pups case she may have fallen into clutches of OCD and is now trying to be as clean and tidy inside as out. Let's hope she isn't on the verge of anorexia...
   
   Aside from that, I wouldn't worry too much unless she develops behavioral changes. I've had both dogs and cats over the years and some of them just have strange habits. It's one of the things that makes them individuals. It's also one of the ways you can tell who's being naughty...
