It depends, of course, on the person and your definition of good and inexpensive, but there are many easy handmade gifts to consider.  Some take more time than others, but may are quite easy. A framed photograph of the person's dog, for instance, would be fairly quick and inexpensive. Then there are all the many gifts in a jar ideas, some requiring a little more time than others. Let us know what you decide on and how it works out.

Great idea RTalloni - I'm trying to find things I can mail to friends who I normally order expensive online gifts. This year however is a bit lean but a frame can be mailed pretty inexpensively. Thanks!

An example of one of my favorite gifts ever is a "gift certificate" I got from my parents who were on a limited budget, they gifted me a relaxing weekend ie. the gift certificate was to babysit my kids for the weekend. Of course it depends on who you're giving the gift to and if it's appropriate but "gift cards" for babysitting/ organizing help/ massages etc. are always very welcome.

This would be great for my elderly parents. They don't need anything anyway but it will show I'm making an effort. Thanks so much Carol!

Best gifts are personal, maybe hand-made if you have time to make them, some small gifts that the person needs (a pair of socks, ...). It all depends on for who the gift is. For your bf, you can make some coupons for massage, talk, time alone, ... He can use the coupon when he wants. For your mother, you can make some nice photo album with the most memorable moments with her (the same you can make for your friends). For fruit lover a basket full of fruits. Me and my daughter just made a snowman from old socks and rice for her grandma, and she loved it! Use your imagination. Try to find out what a person needs. smile

Thanks for this suggestion Ksenija. I think these types of gifts will work well for family members.

I have a few hubs on gifts ideas.  Here are some of my suggestions,  possibly get an gift card in a small amount to Starbucks, Target, Kohls, Amazon or to a restaurant.  You can get an inexpensive jewelry, scarf, skincare set from Amazon or the Walmart site to your loved ones or other sites that you like to shop from.

I'm new here so I will check out your hubs Janelle.  I have a couple of long-time colleagues who I can't afford to give a big gift this  year so I may try some of these out. Thanks!

Coupons to watch the other person's children or pets for free.
Coupons where you'll run errands for them.
Take their pictures and buy an old photo album if you can't get one for free online and make a scrap book using lots of underused scraps with some church group. Take the pictures and give them back a fully filled out, labeled, decorated scrap book.
Give them a coupon for X nice home cooked meals, assuming it isn't your spouse.
