Letters from Nathan & Nathan Law firm
I've had a man show up twice to give me papers, I've not been home at the time. I'm certain it's regarding a CC. My job of 16 years was relocated and we are in a BAD place financially. I received a letter from Nathan & Nathan Law Firm yesterday RE: Capital one card. It shows the amount, act # and my name. My access to account online is denied, did this firm buy my debt or are they actually representing Capital one? I have a good feeling that there will be more of these to follow considering our financial situation. Can I fight them all? Thank you for such good advice.I've spent 2 days reading
Most likely representing Capital One. We've had letters in the past for medical bills.. You can probably call Cap One and work things out with them. But sometimes you may only go through the law firm. You really can't fight them. You can choose to not pay the bills-don't worry there is no such thing as a debtor's prison, but it will be on your credit report and will hurt your chances of getting financed. You can try credit counseling. All you need to do is get your bills and take it to a local office and they can consolidate your debt and even work out something with the creditors so you may even pay less.
You have the right to demand proof that they have the right to collect on this debt, and you have the right to call Capital One and verify that they have sold your account to a collection agency.

See this article where they say they are experimenting with staff accounts:http://www.squidoohq.com/2011/09/13/wer … -accounts/I think they are prompted by the fact that HP appears to be slowly moving out of teh Panda penalty (albeit with some accounts seeing wild movements). Here's...
