No. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. That's life!
If Thomas Edison had given up on inventing the lightbulb after a thousand failures he could have told himself; "It wasn't meant to be." However he persevered and changed the world!
Ultimately our job is to take whatever cards life has dealt us and make the most of it. To rely on destiny or fate is to be a "passenger" in one's own life. It's better to be the "driver".
Our focus should be on the goal and not (how) we got there. In hindsight we'll call the "how" destiny.
"If you really want to do something you'll find a way, if you don't you'll find an excuse." - Jim Rohn

All life is predestined so my answer is yes.

The concepts of "karma" and "reaping what you sow" can only be accomplished by reincarnation which require predestination to achieve. All material things of earth are living entities although scientists will disagree. Because of karma every stone we break, metal we melt, stones we polish or cut to make precious, man made diseases, diseases kill out of our bodies, plants we kill, animated life we kill and other things we do things to are experiences our life-force must experience both emotional experiences of. The following is how it works.

In Genesis 1:1-2:3's creation metaphor water, followed by matter, came first then plants followed by birds and fish before all other animals including man came last. That represents a partial sequence [I call timeline] of the evolution process for all life-forces since they all consumes something else to maintain themselves. So, each life-force enters earth as the first specie [I know not what] consuming and being consumed creating karma. It remains as that specie until all interactions with that and other life-forces it will have throughout its earthbound timeline before it enters a next and the next and the next until man. As man it pays off all karma to all life types and during their last incarnation began to "sow to the spirit" producing karma for the next plane of existence.

If that concept is correct earthen life is in a cycle and Genesis 1:14 suggests it happens as days, seasons and years with Ecclesiastes 1:9 say everything repeats itself forever, in all except Jehovah Witnesses Bibles and make all acts done by anyone is destined.
