      Tip: you probably won't do well here with anything that wouldn't be suitable for a 13 year-old. We earn via ad revenue and they are pretty strict these days.

         1 in 5 women will experience what I have. So by suitable for a 13 year old, you mean no graphic content? Reality is reality. I have a 14 year old, so I understand censoring. However this cause is near and dear to me. Not just facts and figures, but the real damage it does. I believe it is important to keep an honest conversation going not only on formats like this, but every where. So many terrified women sweep it under the rug. It's still considered taboo in a world where Viagra ads are on family channels. This needs to change. Sorry for the rampage, I guess my question is am I in the wrong place, or could I find a way to make my content and message a good fit?

            I don't think you quite understand the issue.  Amazon has asked all of us to sign an agreement stating that we will not post any articles that are not child friendly.  To do so means that you will be cut out of any money you can earn on Amazon..which can sometimes be substantial.  You might want to think about starting your own website where you can write whatever you please.

   That being said, other articles on PTSD could definitely be featured here providing you don't go into explicit detail about the actual violence related to the trauma that caused it.  Welcome.  Looking forward to reading your articles.

   As long as you realize that those articles are going to run without ads, and will not make you an income, they are okay. The problem arises when people complain that their articles on sensitive issues do not run ads and thus do not earn money.

      I would not complain about that, as my main focus is awareness and helping women push beyond the barrier of fear. That being said, if I published a few articles about the clinical side of trauma and PTSD, would those be considered too sensitive? Or perhaps articles on responder sensitivity and a call to change in police protocol?

         They'd be published as long as they are written well. But anything that goes against the Google Adsesne policies (some of these topics) will not show ads. So, yeah you should be fine writing these.

   I think the bottom line is deciding what your goals are, what you feel you need to be able to publish to meet these goals and communicate the info you want to, and understanding going into it what the realities are for potential income. 
   
   Your desires to publish information that will help women with PTSD who have suffered from sexual assault is a admirable one especially after you heard these articles won't earn you anything.  You should be commended for such a commitment.
   
   I think you can strike a balance between writing articles that say what you feel needs to be said that don't have ads with others that hold to Google rules and will earn you something. Helping women cope with and move past fear could be written such that it just says at the beginning helping them cope with trauma related fear and then writing the article really more about techniques for dealing with the fear and anxiety would likely be fine. 
   
   You could do an article before that one on the specific types of fears these women have, directly tieing their anxiety to aspects of the trauma.  You could thus be more open in the first article, while understanding it wouldn't have ads, then write the second one without the need for specific trauma related content where you give strategies, encouragement, resources etc. which should be fine for ads.  The first article can serve as a foundation for the second even though both would be stand alone articles.  Hope this is more useful.  Let me know if you other questions.

   Starting your own website is a good idea, though gaining readership might be tough, due to competition on a subject that is gaining traction.
   Writing on  HubPages might be a good way to start getting your name out but, as others  have said, You need to read the rules carefully.

      It may be gaining traction, but I live it every day. That being said, researching and helping others cope, as well as what has worked for me, is my way of fighting back therapeutically.

   The same Adsense rules apply if she were to start a new website too. The OP has stated that she is not looking to earn from her articles but just write to build awareness. So it should be fine to write here without ads.

      You are correct...however, it's been my experience that many start here not wanting to earn but at some point change their minds.  Not too many people want to do all of this work just for the satisfaction ... but maybe she is different.  I always believe in better safe than sorry.

         TimeTraveler... I am not most people. Helping others and raising awareness helps me cope, it is part of my therapy process. And I own my own company. So again, not most people.

            It was just a statement based on what I have seen over the past 7 years here.  Nothing personal.  When you come onto the forums to ask advice, people provide it based on their own knowledge base.  You have every right to disagree, of course, but those who advise are trying to help you.  You may not realize it now, but there are people here making 4 figures and more every month.  You're saying that doesn't matter, and right now it may not.  Unless you are independently wealthy, having that extra income can come to mean a lot...but again, it's your choice and the consequences are yours as well.

   Hey! I have been here for 8 years. I have articles on surviving incest and sexual assault. Your ads will be removed if you are writing them well without caving to google. You will not earn from them. However you can reach people. So if that is your goal this can be a good platform.

   Good morning miss RamblingBack2me. It is a sad and painful subject you want to write. Many women and men have been assaulted. There are many clubs about different addictions. I am sure there are clubs about people who are dealing with any assault. Hub pages always advice. We can do a research on the subject we are writing. Also, you can not tell anyone what you are searching. Yo could visit a club for assaulted people and find all kind of stories. Your hub will be the best with your searched knowledge.
