I know this is a problem for some of us, but I'm tired of the insulting comments that some new "members" are leaving . They haven't written any articles so they can't be banned?
I do delete them. Anyone else have this issue?
Sorry to that; happens to me as well, but I do my best to ignore them. It helps to set your comments to need approval before they'll show, so readers never encounter them.
I am sorry to hear that, and no. I have not had anything like that. Fingers crossed.
People join in order to leave comments. If they aren't acceptable, delete them and forget them. They aren't genuine hubbers.
Someone has been leaving derogatory remarks on my pages for years. I worry if I don't hear from him for a while.
Have you heard from him recently? Or was he on a Christmas break?
You've been on a long Christmas break, Brandon.... Hmmm...
People dont seem to get too angry about video games and technology... oh wait actually they do sometimes.
My advice is to refuse rude comments and approve the comments that help your hub or are genuine feedback. The way I see it I am the moderator of my hubs. I approve what I think is OK and delete the rest. I try to be somewhat approving though.
I have gotten my fair share of battering from these people as well. Some are genuine, others are just downright mean.
If they insult me I insult them right back. I figure if you want to play a war of words with me, bring it!
Thanks for the feedback. This problem of "hit and run" commenters has been a problem since they don't have to prove themselves as writers or give a profile before being allowed to leave comments or use the forums.

Do you leave negative comments from readers on your articles?I delete spam but have left comments when a person doesn't agree with me. However, I have noticed I seem to be in the minority on this because when I've left a comment disagreeing with a person (this is not just on HubPages but on blogs...

I really think that people leave comments just because they can.I mean, what other excuse is it for people look up or click on links in a search or outside blog or page, then leave a comment like, "this is so stupid. you're wasting your time. you're an idiot" etc. and typically with a few...

How should I respond to hubbers who leave me mean comments that upset me?
by Rochelle Frank 13 years ago
Is it OK to leave a comment up that has bad language and personal attacks? It obviously came from a humorless person, who didn't understand my metrics hub, so I invited them to join Hubpages and have fun in the forums.
