Can I turn off the Q&A feature?

   I looked a little for an answer but I'll just ask since I can't find one - is it possible for me to turn off the Q&A feature and if so, how? I have certain articles that get questions with words that are probably unfavorable to Google. I also think that some of my articles are being eaten alive by accidental keyword cannibalization within the Q&A.

      To turn off the Q&A feature, I think you go to Edit mode, then Display Options, and select "Off" for Article Questions.
      
      Keep in mind that you can edit questions you receive from your readers (if you think it is necessary or helpful to do so) and you also have the option to not display the questions at all. If I recall correctly, the questions are not automatically displayed in your Q&A capsule unless you allow them to be displayed.

   Click on the big orange Pause button at the top. You won't get any new questions and all the existing Q&As won't be displayed.

      Bev, DrMark said the same thing in another thread. I’m wondering now why both of you have the Q&A not being displayed when you pause. I have mine paused and all prior Q&A continue to display in my hubs. That’s the way I want it. The prior answers are useful. I just got tired of vetting repeat questions.
      
      The only way to remove existing Q&A is by turning it off in the display options as gerimcclym mentioned above.

         Ah, okay. I've never paused mine, despite being sorely tempted. I seem to remember a staffer saying if they are paused the Q&A 'capsule' is hidden.

            That staffer meant that the capsule to allow asking a question is hidden. Existing Q&A continue to be displayed. I had it paused for a long time already so I see that is how it works.
            
            At least we got that cleared up. I was beginning to wonder if I was an exception — lol.

         I have never tried to pause all of them, just article by article. There are still a few articles that get decent questions but the majority are just the same thing over and over.
         (Another question--Do you know what happens to the answers that are on another page if you pause the feature? I still get some traffic from one of my lizard questions, and if I pause the QandA capsule on that article I would not want to lose that other page.)

            DrMark, see my prior post above. We got that cleared up now—the difference between pausing and turning off the display.
            
            To answer your present question, good news—pausing does not remove prior Q&A, even if they are on separate pages. They will remain, and the link to them will continue to be randomly listed in the related hub (unless you disable it in the hub’s display options).
            
            The purpose of pausing is simply to avoid any further questions from readers. It does not affect prior Q&A.
