I can't figure out how. There is one article where I would like to turn off commenting if that's possible because one of my articles might attract cyberbullies. I haven't gotten any comments yet but still

    Thank you

You can't turn comments off, but if you want a comment removed, you can send an email to team@hubpages.com, and we can help.

These Network Sites have the comment feature.

Why only those sites, why not all sites?

We are working on adding comments to the rest of the Network Sites.

Hi Matt, Are we also going to have the ability re-enabled to delete useless comments? You may recall some time ago I needed to remove those that were not helpful for SEO purposes.

Then, only then, comment button would be restored to hubpages, and discover?

Can we get all comments removed? I've noticed large amounts of text in comments which is duplicated on other sites. Without trawling through all the comments to check, would it be better to just do away with them all in case google penalises articles for duplication?

Can we also get Q&As removed?

Yes Eugene, you can remove, or edit, Q&As by clicking the Q&A tab under the “Articles” tab.  Then scroll down to “filters” and change it to “answered.”

You will see a complete list of all your previously answered questions, and you can remove any you don’t want by clicking the green “Hide Q&A” button.

The reason I asked is because I often suspect Google penalises very long articles. My triangle tutorial (which used to get 2500 daily views and now only 300) has a large number of Q&As at the bottom. A lot of the content is just me repeating myself, answering questions by students where the questions are just variations on a theme. Maybe Google sees this as duplication?

That’s possible. I maintain the Q&A for that reason—deleting duplicate questions, editing poorly written questions, and even moving my useful answers into the body of the articles.

I’m glad we still have control over Q&A despite the fact that adding new ones has been discontinued.

Thanks Glenn. I'm just after going through the questions and deleting some that were similar to other questions and the content of the guide.

Oh, nevermind, I just saw the other person's post below mine.

But if that specific article does end up getting comments is there a way to contact HubPages to turn them off?

    Thank you

It all depends on the location of the article.                                      If it's on a network site, or an author post it for discussion in a forum, and you don't like it, you can flag or report. A moderator will then look into it, and deleted the comment, but not the discussion or comment icon.

    Matt...
It's great that these niche sites have comments...but what good does it do if we aren't notified when we receive a comment.
There's no way I can go through each one to search for a new comment.

We don't have comment notifications when someone comments on your article yet, but you can configure your comment settings to get a notification if someone replies to your comment. You can do this in the Profile settings tab of the comment box.

Can we get our comments removed from other people's articles? I may have commented on an article similar to my own, but the content of the comment could be similar to content in my own article. So I don't want Google to penalise me.

Seems it's impossible for hubpages writers to  have a reach on that? Why not email team@hubpages.com/  to get the gist of the issue. Thanks.
