   The realm of hippiedom has its place. But not in politics.
   Obviously.
   
   
   And Yet, for some reason, according to the precepts of hippiedom, the world needs to become a better and more enlightened place; and the government should make that happen. Only an angel, they seem to believe, should be POTUS; an angel who will force others to provide welfare for the downtrodden ... an angel with no conception of what creates downtroddeness.
   
   But then, how could he, a mere angel?
   
   So consider, what is politics about in the realm of solid men and women?
   Is it to give the govt. more power?
   
   Idealistic no-nothing hippies say, yes.
   Reasonable educated people say, no.

      Evidently you have read the Constitution with understanding. It give
      we the people the power over government by calling them Public Trust(ees). It doesn't allow for parties, it requires taking care of our territory's environment and all of We The People.

      I lived in a hippie commune for a couple months when I was a teenager. I learned three valuable lessons: 1) Socialism doesn’t work. 2) Free Love doesn’t work. 3) It is not true that anything you believe is true just because you believe it.
      
      Supposedly, everything was to be shared equally—communally—because everyone would contribute what they could. But in fact, several of the men worked all day in the hot Sarasota sun doing roofing and construction—and gave their pay to the commune—while a few did not work at all but freeloaded while hanging out with the chicks all the day. Oh, they were ‘looking for work’ but they had ‘bad backs’ or  ‘one leg was shorter than another’ or a ‘phobia of alarm clocks’ or ‘working for the man’ would not do.
      
      Supposedly, sexual jealousy belonged to old foggies, backwards Neanderthals, uptight prides, and would soon be a thing of the past after the hippies forged a new path of everybody balling everybody. Crabs had a field day and in fact sexual jealousy was rampant among the enlightened few. Eventually, I saw individuals become attached to a particular other person and they were ripped apart emotionally when someone else would bang them right in front of everybody.
      
      Additionally, the hippies would also sit around in a drug-induced stupor all night finding new wisdom man had not thought of before, such as “Whatever you believe to be true IS TRUE FOR YOU. That is how powerful the human mind is.” This was especially applied to ‘comparative religions,’ the idea that all religions are true but only for those who believe in them. In other words, if YOU think you are going to meet Jesus when you die, YOU will. If YOU are an atheist who believes nothing will happen when YOU die, it won’t. If YOU are Hindu who believes in reincarnation, YOU will come back as a bug or something.  Sadly, one guy also thought he could fly.

      Yes, and I find that too bad that they have chosen the Democrat Party to use to launch their attack on America. Naturally, the party of rampant Capitalism wouldn't accept them. But it would be nice if they called a spade a spade and stuck to the old Socialist Party. They won't do that because it's been tried before and failed. They are shouting down the real Democrats and taking over just like the fascists have shouted down the real Republicans and taken over their party.

   George Orwell wrote the following in an essay titled, "What Is Fascism?"
   "I am speaking of what I have seen in print. I have seen the words ‘Fascist in sympathy’, or ‘of Fascist tendency’, or just plain ‘Fascist’, applied in all seriousness to the following bodies of people:
   
   Conservatives: All Conservatives, appeasers or anti-appeasers, are held to be subjectively pro-Fascist. British rule in India and the Colonies is held to be indistinguishable from Nazism. Organizations of what one might call a patriotic and traditional type are labelled crypto-Fascist or ‘Fascist-minded’. Examples are the Boy Scouts, the Metropolitan Police, M.I.5, the British Legion. Key phrase: ‘The public schools are breeding-grounds of Fascism’.
   
   Socialists: Defenders of old-style capitalism (example, Sir Ernest Benn) maintain that Socialism and Fascism are the same thing. Some Catholic journalists maintain that Socialists have been the principal collaborators in the Nazi-occupied countries. The same accusation is made from a different angle by the Communist party during its ultra-Left phases.    Fascists. This is echoed by other Left extremists such as Anarchists. Some Indian Nationalists consider the British trade unions to be Fascist organizations.
   
   Communists: A considerable school of thought (examples, Rauschning, Peter Drucker, James Burnham, F. A. Voigt) refuses to recognize a difference between the Nazi and Soviet régimes, and holds that all Fascists and Communists are aiming at approximately the same thing and are even to some extent the same people. Leaders in The Times (pre-war) have referred to the U.S.S.R. as a ‘Fascist country’. Again from a different angle this is echoed by
   
   Anarchists and Trotskyists.
   Trotskyists: Communists charge the Trotskyists proper, i.e. Trotsky's own organization, with being a crypto-Fascist organization in Nazi pay. This was widely believed on the Left during the Popular Front period. In their ultra-Right phases the Communists tend to apply the same accusation to all factions to the Left of themselves, e.g. Common Wealth or the I.L.P.
   
   Catholics: Outside its own ranks, the Catholic Church is almost universally regarded as pro-Fascist, both objectively and subjectively;
   War resisters: Pacifists and others who are anti-war are frequently accused not only of making things easier for the Axis, but of becoming tinged with pro-Fascist feeling.
   
   Supporters of the war: War resisters usually base their case on the claim that British imperialism is worse than Nazism, and tend to apply the term ‘Fascist’ to anyone who wishes for a military victory. The supporters of the People's Convention came near to claiming that willingness to resist a Nazi invasion was a sign of Fascist sympathies. The Home Guard was denounced as a Fascist organization as soon as it appeared. In addition, the whole of the Left tends to equate militarism with Fascism. Politically conscious private soldiers nearly always refer to their officers as ‘Fascist-minded’ or ‘natural Fascists’. Battle-schools, spit and polish, saluting of officers are all considered conducive to Fascism. Before the war, joining the Territorials was regarded as a sign of Fascist tendencies. Conscription and a professional army are both denounced as Fascist phenomena.
   
   Nationalists: Nationalism is universally regarded as inherently Fascist, but this is held only to apply to such national movements as the speaker happens to disapprove of.          Hippies desire a utopian world. They figure the govt could help out in this regard, but this is where they are  WRONG  .
         The government is not going to help make the world a better palace. The government can help prevent the destruction of a wonderful world.
         What is a wonderful world?
         
         Let us figure that out and then work to preserve it.
         LET US figure it out
         ... for ourselves, by ourselves.

            That is exactly why I am working to get people to read with understanding the U.S. Constitution. The government has butchered it so and discouraged our reading it in any way except how they are practicing it. There is no way obedience to the Constitution's words would allowed this nation's leaders to ever take over what has become the lower 48 states and, even more so, be occupying over 150 different nations today which means the U.S. is attempting to be an empire rather than an nation.

    John Lennon was the king of the hippies and rebellion also along with the likes of love JC. There is alot of things about millenniums that feel untitled and reminds me of us boomer hippies, in our flower power period. My daughter who is a millennium blames alot things on us boomers that we actually have done wrong. I told my daughter, your right hippies have dropped the ball on alot of beautiful things about the hippy movement. Being a boomers, I apologized for the destruction of the planet and the mass of boomers supporting greedy. Although I will work everything in my power of love of the people and nature to fit it. For example, the Greed we have allowed the wealthy, also pollution of the planet, destruction of big fish and trees and most animals on the earth so on... & so on.  Boomers have created more prison cell than college dorms. Revamping of the nuclear arms race, and gun happy people feared of the military complex and Goverment turning the public into entire slavery as they have done many times in the pass human history.
    I'll let the world change its. Best thing that I can do,  is change myself to be a better person than before, to keep the integrity for me and nature. With hopes it will encourage or motivated others too. I think millenniums are more self severing than selfish, just like hippies.

       Yes. I think a lot of hippies went to Wall Street.

       This is the only way to live for me. Happiness is in the head and the "heart" no matter level of income, and those of us that care about our planet cannot get caught up in the enormity of the problems. 
       
       In my studies into environmentally responsible behavior (ERB), modeling is one of the only effective ways of encouraging ERB. Our family does this on a small scale in our city with our urban garden that uses no pesticides,  no weed killers, only all organic compost for fertilizer, etc. We also re-use and re-purpose things as much as feasibly possible. Since we started our plot, others have followed suit, and our neighborhood is great at trading things, etc. in order to save cash and the landfills.
       
       Telling others to behave a certain way almost never works, at least not without the threat of negative repercussions. This is why the only effective marketing strategies to encourage things such as ERB and discourage things, such as teen smoking, make the desired behavior seem as though it is the rebellious thing to do as it's the opposite of what "they" or "the man" wants you to do. Thus the failure of Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No."

    Yes, some laws of nature were broken in these experiments. One law of nature in humans is this: barnyard sex just doesn't work. Why? Because the sex center and the love center in the brain are situated very close together. This physical arrangement produces love, (and consequential jealousy,) and helps couples stay together for the duration of rising their offspring ... and hopefully, beyond.
    
    Moral laws such as no murder, no theft, idolatry of false gods, etc. make for peaceful people and a happy society. If we try to live by our own made up world, based on mere imagination, we can mess up (understatement) our lives. Laws are laws and should not be broken. This applies to physical laws and moral laws.
    
    That families can only be happy separated from one another is an example of a moral law. One man and one woman and their offspring, not multiple wives (Adultery.) Multiplies wives' and all their children would produce a hellish predicament which would include jealousy, confusion and bickering (or worse) for all involved.
    
    We cannot escape the consequences of breaking physical laws either. By taking hallucinogenics, such as LSD, forgetting or ignoring that it will affect our brain functioning abilities, (either temporarily or permanently,) we might casually lie down on a highway for a trippy star gazing experience, only to be flattened by a car.
    
    Thank you, James A Watkins for surviving those (crazy) days and living to share them with us. I wonder how many did not survive. How many thought they could look into the sun for hours or "fly" out of a window as Art Linkletter's daughter did. After all, both physical laws and moral laws were being broken by hippies attempting to live their utopian dream.

                   Fine.
                   
                   The ending involves a couple who is forcing/allowing (?) everyone (in the Palm Springs area,) to undergo brain surgery, which takes away all unhappy thoughts - a process which apparently requires several surgical operations.
                   
                   Elle Fanning plays Grace along with Peter Dinklage who is Del. Del is the only person left after some sort of widespread illness wipes out the entire population of Northern California. Apparently, Grace escapes the doctors (her parents?) and drives north. She literally crashes, (her car,) into town where Del lives. He helps her recover from the crash, but then demands that she leave. She has other plans.
                   
                   Del is systematically burying bodies to get rid of the stench all around him. Grace offers to help (and beguile) this dwarf who is very jaded from being apparently mistreated all his life. It takes him a while to warm up to her because he likes the freedom of being utterly alone, (as he believes he is the only person who has survived.) Nevertheless, he allows her to stay, begrudgingly, at first. Grace is so desperately alone in her suffering, (whatever it is) that she actually falls for this little guy. In the end, does he fall for her? (... well, it is Hollywood, after all, and yes, he does rescue her after she was abducted back to So Cal by the people who want to continue/finish erasing all her unhappy memories.)
                    
                   So, yes, the doctor and his wife show up in No Cal and discover Grace living with Dawson. (I'm not sure if she had called them or what.) They retrieve her and bring her back to So Cal. At some point before they leave, (with Elle sobbing in the car,) the doctor had handed Dawson his business card.
                   
                   After Del finds himself alone again, he actually misses Grace. He drives all the way down to So Cal., where, to his surprise, he discovers a whole community of people. He finds Grace and rescues her from the operation table. Elle ends up shooting the doctor dead.
                   
                   As the ending shows, the people of Palm Springs know nothing but the glorious life of pure happiness. They are unaware of any unhappy thoughts/perceptions. The people in the community are are seen walking their dogs, jogging, watering their yards, etc. smiling and obviously enjoying their pointless existences.
                   
                   As Grace and Del drive away together, she says she is sorry for killing the Doctor, (who might also be her father.)
                   He asks, "Are you really?"
                   ... and she answers, "No."

And, uh... anger, despair, guilt. These people shouldn't have to live with that shit, right? It's not fair. Right? So we're doing something about it. You keep your town nice and clean. It's great. And we do that with our people. They don't have to remember what happened before. They don't have to live in the past. There's no before.There's only from now on.Isn't that beautiful? To not have to remember anything?

       I can't relate much, because I married a midget and was horrified.  As far as survival of an Apocalypse event, romance would be the last thing on my to do list. The worst thing I could do, is kill someone. A very nice doctor who wants to erase your unhappy thoughts, stupid concept anyway, glad I didn't watch the movie.
       
       Best thing was to go to a cannabis store break in and choose a Marrijanna strain to greatly lower your post traumatic stressed systems and stay away from negative people. Also grow microgreens fast for nutritional balance. Stay away from disease and war zones, the country side is better and people are not as insane.

       Yes, the source of most problems is within our own brains. To have a doctor do surgery on your brain for the unhappy bits, would surely unbalance your brain.
       Chemo and radiation is a great way to mess peoples lives up too, in which they used in the second world war.
       
       Where as cannabis has a phenomenally way of normalizing the brain and body and makes things more fun and help to forget the horrible bits. It may not work for everyone. Yet its the best medicine known to man and the most diverse production material to rebuild a new world from an Apocalypse event. Then onward with cannabis, you will have great sleep, be hungry and finally make sex better for the beautiful bond in your romance.

             No harmful effects or death side effects from cannabis. My girlfriend takes it for cancer and I take it for treatment of my heart disease. Between cancer and heart diseases that makes up the total death toll of 63% of the people on the earth. That is your scientific reality Apocalypse happening right now!!!
