I joined HubPages 3 years ago but my last article was a little over an year ago, so imagine my surprise when I received mail from Paypal a few days ago about my first payment from HubPages!

I really love this site and I want to continue writing, but I just can't seem to get the inspiration, and life hasn't been very nice to me lately. Also my AdSense account and Amazon affiliate account got shut down during my downtime. Lost all inspiration.

HubPages seems to have grown a lot during the time I was away. But I will hopefully be back, and write here again.

This is my first ever payment for writing something. Thanks a lot to HubPages and its great community! smile

That first payout is a great motivator. Hooray!

If life has been appalling -- that, in itself, could be a good starting point. How are you finding your way through? A lot of people in similar circumstances could be helped by what you are are experiencing, and how you are dealing with things.
      Wishing you well...

Congrats!  I hope you keep writing.  Once you get your first payment they start coming quicker until you're getting a payment every month!  Don't lose hope!

Keep up the good work, and please write and I have been told that if I couldn't be inspired by anything to write about, then write about not being able to be inspired by writing, I know it has helped me tremendously. Good luck and congrats on the payout.

Congrats. But you can't earn from HP without an Adsense account. So it must be still active since you received payout.

Is adsense required even for Hubpages ads? Maybe you're right. I do remember signing up for adsense using HubPages. I should probably check again. I don't even remember if I checked the correct google account. I just remember being kicked out of the Adsense account due to some account error when I tried signing in.

Yes, actually you have to have an Adsense account even to earn from HP.  So Brandon is right - your Adsense account must still be active.  You'll want to check your articles to see which niche sites they are on and make sure you add any that aren't already added to your Adsense account.  Also be sure to submit any of your articles that aren't already there to niche sites.  That makes a huge difference in earnings.

Adding niche sites to adsense? I think I just connected my Adsense accout to hubpages. Am I supposed to do that for niche sites too?

Only some of my articles are on niche sites. Most of my articles definitely need some editing before I try the niche sites. Thanks for the idea.

Turns out I was checking the wrong adsense accout. I was logging in to my adsense using another gmail account and it kept telling me my account was disapproved and I thought it was due to lack of ad activity or something...

But I guess it isn't much use. It seems to have gathered just 20 cents over all these years...

Happy for you. I hope you are able to get your inspiration back. Maybe you should try writing about what's happening in your life, if it isn't so private. That might help.

Thank you Isivwe! I don't know if I can write about personal stuff. It feels weird. But maybe I can take some ideas out of it.
