Just want to share my happiness when I received today my first payout in the HP ad program. My Google Adsense earnings lag way far behind HP ad program. I don't expect to get my earnings in adsense at all. I'm motivated to write more hubs if only I have more time to do so. Thanks Hubpages.
Congrats! Just got my first payout today as well!
Me, too. I was cheering, even as it disappeared into the magic maw that is known as Necessityland.
Congrats to you, too Healthy Pursuits!
Thank you, Thelma. It was a nice milestone!
That first one is indeed a great feeling. Congrats!
Btw, the other ones aren't that bad either.
Congratulation! Way long to go for me to get paid in HP!
Congrats to you, Sergs,
I just joined this week, only 2 hubs so far. I look forward to that day. By the way, I was turned down by Google Adsense for lack of content and that my website needed work. I was confused about the latter because my website seems to be fine and I get complements regularly. Anyway, is the HP ads program automatic or do I need to apply? Thanks :-)
Thanks everyone! Although this is just small, it's a good motivator.
Congratulations, Pogi! I'm happy for you. Here's to more payouts to come. Cheers!
Well done, its a great feeling getting the first payment.............but even better when its little brothers and sisters follow. Enjoy
First of all, congrats, s_p!! I still have my have my initial payout taped to my computer to remind me Well, Google saw fit to pay me $2-, but it serves as an-albeit distressing-reminder of things to come!
Congratulations!! It's hard work. but you need to build up quality hubs. My secret target is at least 1000 hubs!! Now no more secret!! (LOL)
The threshold for payout is $50. When you hit that sum, you are paid the following month and receive whatever the final balance was at the end of the month in which you reached the payout threshold.
Most people take months to reach their first payout, but it does depend a lot on how many hubs you produce, the topics you choose and on how well you can promote the hubs so they get found in the search engines.
Some people report that their rate of earning starts to increase quite rapidly once they learn the tricks of the trade and continue to produce good hubs. Others seem to be stuck with very low earnings.
Some accounts have been hit by Google algorithm changes, which caused them to lose many views or even disappear from search results completely. Some of these accounts have recovered within days, weeks or months, others are still hit after more than a year. Conversely, some accounts have really benefited from Google changes and seen their views shoot up dramatically.
Yes, this is quite useful, WriteAngled. I'm a newbie and hoping to see movement in the near future. I'm having trouble, though, getting Adsense. I applied too soon, tried to reapply, couldn't remember which IDs I used and have been going around in circles eversince with new passwords, trying different emails, etc. So last night, I appiled for my business website and blog. I hope that if that goes through, I can apply for hubpages as an exisitng publisher for a second account. It's been frustrating. I've done 6 hubs in the last 11 days, hope that suffices.
No, no!
Once you have an Adsense account, you don't make any other applications. You simply use your code everywhere where you publish on revenue-sharing sites and also on your own sites and blogs.
You can indeed have an Adsense account in your own name and a second one in a company name. However, you say you have already had problems with your first application. I personally would not complicate matters, but would stick with the business Adsense if you are approved for that.
Best of luck!

I am soo happy, I have reached 500,000 views. I am aiming for 1 million before the end of the year. How many views do you have and what are your expectations? Tips on how to drive more traffic and increase the $$$$$ are also welcome.

When does HubPages pay a person? How exactly does it work?I have 50 plus dollars, I'm just wondering how all this works or how they pay you - I'm new to the whole process and am excited to actually have earned something from my writing.

A few days ago, I noticed that a lot of people were talking about changing from HP Ad Program to Google AdSense. I had tried that a few years ago, but switched back pretty quickly because I earned better with HP. Recently though, since my earnings have dropped so much, I figured I didn't have much...

...would someone please drop a note?Meanwhile, I'm going to try to claw and scratch my way across the Straight AdSense payout finish line this month. Probably the last one of those I'm ever going to see as well.[A reminder to not post specific numbers, that is still a TOU no-no.]
