What is Google Analytics and should I get an account and a tracking code? My earnings are pretty constant. Not sure if this is for amplified earnings or just a statistics thing.

It's just statistics, but there's a lot more information than you'll find in the HubPages stats page. I've always found it helpful, especially for marketing and knowing what content is doing best.

Just to advocate the other side. I've never used it and I've made over 4 figures at times.

Not only is Google Analytics useful, it is fun.

Indeed, it's fun, but on the reverse side--by removing my tracking number under Google Analytics in the affiliates section of our accounts under My Account--will that disable Google Analytics to my Hub Pages account?

If you want to know how many one-legged, left-handed, Lithuanian transvestites read your article on rutabagas then Analytics is the place for you. Personally, I find the details offered bewildering and completely useless. Analytics are, no doubt, vital to Internet marketers who want to sell you stuff you don't need or want.

Dang it, all this time I've been marketing towards the RIGHT handed ones.

Obviously I need that, whatchamacallit, Analytics thingy.

As already said and hinted at, Google Analytics is bunches and bunches and bunches of very detailed stats about who visits your pages. I  have found it less useful (but yes, fun) for my HubPages account and more useful for my personal author's website. If you aren't too techy, you may find it a waste of time and effort. If marketing your articles on HP is your thing, then it would be very useful. If you're a stats junkie (and I can be), then it's just fun.
