It's unlikely Trump will be removed from office

   To be clear, I think he undoubtedly deserves to be for reasons I've commented on. But the belief he will is based on the assumption that the Republican controlled Senate will do something I consider to be the right thing. I have zero confidence it will. Will the impeachment hurt Trump politically? Not among the acolytes (as this forum demonstrates) but I it may push some of the more sensible people away from the Trump experiment. Strange times we're living in, so I'm not sure. Either way, impeaching Trump is the right thing to do (assuming the House votes to do that) regardless of whether the Senate find him guilty or not. Few can deny deny he has, in the words of Benjamin Franklin, "...rendered himself obnoxious".

      A point to consider Don. I don't have a lot of political conversations outside of these forums, but those that I have had clearly illustrate one point. The average Joe doesn't spend his day thinking about politics like we do in these forums.
      
      They work, deal with life's realities, and get the news to form their opinions from the five or six o'clock news. My point is only that I don't think there is any certainty in opinions formed based on what is said in these forums.

                    Since English is my primary language and the term cretin is a word used frequently in normal conversation (when attempting to insult) I think it is safe to say any average American citizen whose primary language is English knows what that word means.
                  
                  You have previously commented that English is not your primary language so, I guess your question shouldn't seem as silly as it sounded.

                           There are still claims that you are wrong. If they cannot comprehend the simplest of reading comprehension why are we surprised when they don't understand the more complicated stuff?

                                 To be fair, you first insulted castle for asking if you understood the meaning of "cretin" and your insult was pretty nasty. Does that mean you need to "grow up"?  If you're going to dish it out, don't be surprised if it's flicked back at you, especially if you're wrong.

         This exactly is the case.
         
         What is the percentage of the population that even watched these hearings?  1%?  2%? On day two the people tuning in was in the single digit millions and falling every day after that.
         
         This was a show put on for those inside the D.C. Belt and the MSM News, other than some political science students no one else paid it any attention at all... why would they, when they already new is was a bunch of malarkey?
         
         The 'average joe' is concerned about his job, his ability to live a decent life, and not being overburdened by his out-of-touch government.

      No Russian Conspiracy... No Quid Pro Quo... nothing but a bunch of petulant and pathetic Representatives grasping dearly for anything to derail the Trump Administration.  Its like watching a classroom full of spoiled brats trying to make the teacher miserable.

         I think abuse of office and obstruction of Congress are both valid reasons to remove a president from office. The Republican Senate is likely to find Trump not guilty due to political reasons not lack of evidence. Just as the Democrats are trying to make their case to the public for political reasons. I also understand the reasoning behind the impeachment articles chosen, as outlined by my comment in the thread you linked to.

   You guys make me think about that time in the impeachment proceedings when that crazy lady constitutional scholar was explaining a comment she made about leftists clustering and rightists spreading out. I remember thinking it make sense. Leftists do cluster, begging for validation.
