There was a segment on the news tonight about people who impulse shop online after having a few glasses of wine.  One lady was saying she was surprised she had bought a really beautiful $900 ring and did not remember until the next morning she had done this.  I do not mean to sound envious, but I think it would be nice to have enough money to impulse buy and not have to worry about how much you spent.  The people on this segment were not worried about the amount of money they spent, they were just surprised they had made the purchases.  Some did not even remember until the purchases came to their door smile.

Now that's scary.  But I do find the best time to take my husband furniture shopping is after a couple of glasses of wine.

Take him straight to the shops and it's, "HOW much?  You must be joking!"

Set off just before lunchtime, and suggest we drop into the local watering hole first for a pub lunch and a nice Chardonnay - and when we get to the shops it's "Yes, why not!"

You are right about this one Marisa.  I DO a similar thing with my husband.  I do like outdoor and antique markets but my husband hates... sorry, he HATES shopping, so I do take him along with me to the market and install him in the nearest "buvette" (outdoors bar) while I do my shopping.  That way he does mind how long I take and he does not even ask "how much did that cost" !

Though I don't drink, I still can shop impulsely on the internet. Good thing is that the things I bought aren't too expensive, so even if I made a mistake in my online purchases, it's an amount I can live with..phew!

Oh that reminds me of some friends who have some drinks and order from the TV shopping channels like QVC or HSC. One person I know ordered a new "fake" fireplace and he lives in Florida! LOL! big_smile

I don't see how someone could get that wasted, pick out a $900 ring, why would you end up in a jewellery shop lol "I know what we can do after this bottle, head to the mall" silly. Why would the retailer actually serve the hammered person?
